A Democracy is when the majority of the people decide what is best for the nation as a whole. However, when majority rules, its decisions can turn out to be harmful for the unpopular minority groups. Laws can be created that target a certain group of people and limit their rights so that they cannot do everything that they want to. A Democracy should have laws set in place that limit the power of the majority so that it is impossible for the basic rights of the minorities to be taken away, even if that minority is unpopular. When the majority makes laws that benefit itself, it might seem like the best option. The most amount of people receive the benefits that the new laws would be creating. They would rather have people work it for them and beat them then have to do manual labor.
