Definition Essay: What Does Respect Means
Respect. It means more to some people then other people can ever dream of. Some people think respect is showing that you will “listen” to them when they speak, others think of it as showing gratitude for doing them favors. But lets really define what respect really means.
“Showing acknowledgement for some ones superiority in a certain field” is a quote from a famous philosopher. And to be honest, I’ll show respect to someone that can render 3d animations in a .CGI format, because I think that is field I wound be interested in later in life. But if you ask me to show some respect to someone who is a rocket scientist, I don’t think I could because I’ll never use that kind of information. Unless you’re a superstar or MVP of the year, you will have to show respect in order to gain respect.
I want to let you know what it means to me. To gain trust, friendship, and good morals all depend on if you are humble enough to show respect and worthy enough to gain respect.
1. a. Luther Protestant reformation, religious wars, and indulgences were all things the church was going through. b. The 4 challenges the church faced were Merchants becoming wealthy, European kings consolidating power, and awareness of the pagan life outside of Europe. 2. a. Martin Luther was born on November 10, 1482. Luther was excommunicated because he created the 95 theses. He later began his own religion and were called Protestants/ Luther’s, because his followers would protest against the Catholic Church. He began a family with six kids and a wife. He died on February 18, 1546 at 62 years old. b. Luther was excommunicated for protesting against the church. For example selling of indulgences. He also began criticizing the bibles beliefs and sayings. c. Pope Leo excommunicated him for writing the 95 theses.
