Ethical Actions Worksheet

Write a 100- to 150-word response to each of the following questions:

Was there anything in either the University of Phoenix Student Code of Conduct or the Student Code of Academic Integrity that surprised you? If so, what was it? Why were you surprised? If not, why not?

Nothing in the University of Phoenix Student Code of Conduct or the Student Code of Academic Integrity surprised me because it is all common sense and we should all know what is right from wrong. These ethics should be personal as well. Sadly some people have no heart and go around verbally abusing others for example. There is a saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” I don’t know who came up with that but it is far from the truth. The words you speak to another person can stick with them for life. I still remember my grade school years a girl had pointed out something about my nose and I never forgot that. We have to be considerate with our words when speaking to one another.

What did you learn about the behaviors considered important for an ethical learner or student in the University of Phoenix learning community?

As a student here at the University of Phoenix would be expected to have the honor and respect For my fellow classmates and instructors that I would also hope to receive from them likewise. I know respect is earned and one way you can earn respect is to be open minded and realize that your opinion is not the “Right” opinion everyone has a different view on different subjects and we should all respect each others opinions. Listening to others opinions from both sides is always very helpful when and you can learn from the side that you don’t necessarily agree with however you can see their point of view on the subject.

Why are the Student Code of Conduct and Student Code of Academic Integrity important to you and the University of Phoenix learning community?...
