Day To Day Life In The Elizabethan Era
Day to day life in the Elizabethan period was so unlike to how life is today in the 21st Century. Life for a person living in Elizabethan times was different for different people depending upon where they were ranked in the social hierarchy.
Women who lived in the Elizabethan life had to obey the Elizabethan men, they had to take care of them and women were not as important as men and men knew better than women, according to Elizabethan Women, http://www.elizabethan-era.org.uk/elizabethan-women.htm, this explains why girls did not go to school they were taught at home and did not go to University and only Royal females were allowed to inherit their father’s title. There was also a ranking of females in Elizabethan times, there were the Upper class the rich, Lower class, those less wealthy and the Royals.

There were strict rules for Elizabethan’s to follow with their clothing. This rule was called the “Sumptuary Clothing law”. The purpose of the law was to monitor and control peoples conduct and if a person broke this law they would be punished. The law meant that men and women could not wear what they wanted and what they could wear depended on their position in the Elizabethan society.
