David Crane And Marta Kauffm Friends Character Analysis
One of my favorite TV shows in the world is Friends. Friends is a sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. The first episode premiered in 1994 starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. The last episode aired in 2004. I watched the show with my mom when I was younger, now I am obsessed. I realized one day that my friends have a lot of the same qualities as the characters in Friends. While I can see all six characters in each of my friends, some act like one more than the other. Joey Tribbiani is one of the six main characters on the show. He can only be described as a goofy, good-hearted, kind person who loves food, and he is best known for being a serious ladies man. …show more content…
She is best known for being a clean freak, but she is also a chef, she is tough, sassy, competitive, and dedicated. In the very first episode Paul the Wine Guy uses and lies to her and when she finds out, instead of being upset about it she stomps on his watch, you don’t hear about him again. Monica is also not ashamed of who she is, she knows how she is and she doesn’t care what people think about her. All of these qualities immediately remind me of my suitemate, and friend, Alexa. I have only known Alexa since August, but I can tell that she is has many of the same personality traits as Monica. Alexa is very sassy, she doesn’t care who you are, if you do something dumb she will call you out on it. She can be witty on the spot, it’s kind of awesome. Alexa and Monica are both very dedicated people. Every time I walk into Alexa’s room, she is either doing homework, watching Netflix, or she’s not in there because she’s at work—but when she’s doing an assignment she stays focused until the assignment is perfect. Although she is not as intense as Monica, Alexa is a very clean person as well. Sometimes our relationship reminds me of hers and Rachel’s; mainly because I’m a mess, like Rachel, and Alexa has her life together, like Monica. Alexa also enjoys to cook, which happens to be Monica’s career. The only real difference I see in their personalities is that Monica talks a lot more than Alexa does. In the show, Monica is a lot louder and talks a little too much, and Alexa talks too, just not as much or as loudly as

Dr.Manhattan is a very ethical and unpredictable man. For instance, during a flashback Dr.Manhattan and the comedian went back to the vietnam war, where the comedian shot the woman, while Jon did nothing about it. “You watched me...You coulda teleported either of us to goddamn Australia...but you didn't lift a finger” (Moore 2-15). Dr.Manhattan can easily use his powers to change the world in a big way, yet he does not. He does not use his powers to meddle with the lives of the mortal. Unlike the comedian, he does not just run out and kill whenever he feels like it, he is moralistic. Furthermore, Dr.Manhattan is also very unpredictable. There are some television shows that run for a couple of seasons and then get cut, then there are shows that make a person think ‘how is it even possible to run for that many seasons?’ Friends is one of those shows. Friends has been a huge part of my childhood, my parents watched it so I watched it, we would view the new episode every week. There were new episodes coming out for the first eight years of my life, and of course I continued to watch reruns after that. I remember watching the final episode air on tv and crying because it was over, silly? Yes. But a lot of Americans had the same reaction as an eight year old girl. People are able to easily identify with the characters and situations, which makes it so entertaining to watch. Friends resonated with Americans so much that it then got broadcasted in 24 other countries and got nominated 211 times for a variety of awards and won 69 times (IMDb.com). Even though it has been off the air for 12 years it continues to…
