What the Harry. C. Moore Library Contains

As you enter the Harry.C.Moore Library you would see the display on majority rule straight ahead. There were tall bulletin boards that were decorated with black and blue papers which had the label mark of what was shown. On the left, there was a bulletin that had newspapers telling about the Black Vote Revolt in the Bahamas where Sir Lynden Pindling led the party to victory on islands that were 50 miles from Florida. There were pictures of how they celebrated the victory which were by greeting the Bahamian people and by having an after party with cake, food and wine. On the right, there was another bulletin with the list of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) elected members, the areas in which they ran and the complete election results. In the center, there were photos in a glass showcase of Sir Lynden Pindling, Sir Clifford Darling and Sir Randal Fawkes. There was also a glass showcase of newspapers which told what happen the day after the election. In the corner to the left, there was a showcase of books which were written by Bahamian Authors about the history of the Bahamas and persons who had made contribution to the Bahamas. Everything that one needs to know about the Bahamas is in those books. In the center to the back, there was the Constitution of the Bahama Islands in a showcase which was the Appointment of Sir Lynden Pindling to the office of Premier. To the back, there were large photos with the 12 cabinet members, the first meeting with Queen Elizabeth the second, the PLP “Delegation of Eight at the United Nations, New York and Sir Lynden Pindling returning to Nassau from Andros after a landslide PLP victory.
However, the display was very informative and interesting because it told of everything that happened on majority rule. No detail was left out. There were stories of what had happened that day of the election, the results of the election, the activities that took place during the day and what happened the day after the election. I loved the
