1.1 Identify the different reasons people communicate

Examples of why people communicate

To gain reassurance and acknowledgement – Giving a child reassurance will help them to develop.

To build relationships - People communicate to make new relationships the way we speak to them at first may make them feel welcome or overlooked.

To maintain relationships – Each time we talk to a child we are maintaining our relationship with them.

To gain and share information – The information you receive and give will help you carry out your work effectively.

To share ideas and thoughts – If you have questions, ideas and opinions about work sharing them with colleagues helps to clarify, develop and even change the way we act and think.

To express needs and feelings – These are communicated through behaviour as well as speech; most people need to share feelings with each other to build trust.

1.2 Explain how communication affects relationships in the work settings

Communication can affect relationships in the work settings if there is a breakdown in communication this can lead to a number of things including a sense of anxiety, isolation and the work will not be done to full potions ion.
E.g. when you work at a school it is important to be a team player and get along with everyone even if you don’t agree with everything that they are saying as along as the outcome for the child is positive.
If people don’t communicate well it limits their ability to connect on any meaningful level and at the extreme, can cause conflict. Communication skills such as open-ended questions, calm tone approach can help unite people also listening to what the other person is say is very helpful. When we communicate well the workplace becomes a much stronger and positive place. Everyone will feel comfortable sharing and expressing their views.

When you are working in a team and especially if it is in a company, you need to be a good team player and to get along with all members of clients no matter whether you like or not, If you don’t communicate well they limit their ability to connect on any meaningful level and that can lead to conflict or any other trouble that can caused you to be excluded from the work field, so it is extremely important for a person to have better relationships with the colleague that you are working with, many times I have seen people fail to get along with the staffs or a supervisors and that caused them into huge a trouble or even lead to an exclusion from the post.
