Crucible Writing Assignment (#2)

Dear Diary,
Alright I’m starting this diary so I can at least tell someone about how exciting my life is! I currently work as a housekeeper in house of the Proctor family, and it’s really fun. No, it’s not the work that’s fun, but it is the fact that I am kind of involved with John (Mr. Proctor). I know it sounds bad since he is married, but God put us together under the same roof for one reason; to unite our hearts. His wife is sickly and pregnant, so she never notices. It felt wrong at first, but since I’ve a crush on John for a long time, I just had to make a move. Mrs. Proctor is very demanding as well. Since I am the housekeeper, I have to take care of all of her needs. She is such a demanding

For starters, John and I don’t see each other as much anymore. I think it is because his wife got healthier and she realized I threatened her home so she fired me as her housekeeper. I don’t mind though because John and I don’t have to see each other to be together. We have a spiritual and emotional connection that we both feel even when we’re apart. He never admits it, but I feel it so he must feel it too. Also something very terrible happened. I was out in the woods with a few of my friends and Tituba, (a slave and housekeeper for another family) because she was trying to conjure spirits. I don’t even know why she was, but all of us just got so excited! We are never allowed to have fun or do anything exciting, so all of the girls just tagged along. Well my uncle caught us and the next thing I know, two girls in our village won’t wake up! They just freaked out and then fainted. Next thing I know, everyone is blaming us for witchcraft and then I am blaming Tituba! I started freaking out like I had seen the devil and just went along with it. Then all of my friends went along with it too. It was super weird but now we are out of trouble! We just have to go to court tomorrow to clear up some accusations some of the girls

However, he did not keep the promise. Mickey promised to Billy Campbell and me that if we pray that his sister will die in the middle of school term, he said he will invite us to his sister’s wake. It was so silly and wrong that Billy and I prayed that Mickey’s sister will not die before school starts, but still we prayed for Mickey. And I am so angry that he did not invite me to his sister’s wake. I prayed every night before I go to sleep during the summer vacation. Also what kind of brother prays that his sister…

Everyone at some point has been judged unfairly. In my case, being judged unfairly can happen because of a lack of trust or lack of understanding. A good example of this was during freshman year in geometry. After spending many hours at a friend’s house working on an extensive homework assignment, we learned the material and completed the assignment by working together. After we turned the homework in, the teacher immediately wrote us off claiming that we were cheaters. She sent emails to our parents to inform them that we were violators of the honor code. After reading the email, my mom flipped and proceeded to ground me and insult my “poor work ethic.” I was furious because I had done nothing…

In the play “The Crucible” Arthur Miller brings out the theme of conflict between good and evil. Miller brings out this theme using the characters in the play. At the start of the play Abigail Williams and other village girls are found dancing and running naked in the woods and the town people sees them as good, not evil this is because the girls are deflecting their punishment for dancing by telling the name of the women who were witches, actually they were convicting the women they don’t like. For Example: Abigail Williams who was in love with John Proctor but since John was married to Elizabeth, Abigail blames that Elizabeth is a witch too and must be hanged. The people who were convicted of witchcraft are the evil people in the eyes of villagers unless they confess to compact with the devil. This shows that the people who are good and the people who are evil have switched identities, good are evil and evil are good.…

It was the September 1st when the magical day happened. I had been working for john for about three months. Mrs. Elizabeth (Johns wife) had become sick some weeks ago and hasn’t been able to get over it. I had decided to do some reading while Mrs. Elizabeth was sleeping. I had only read ten pages before John came behind me. He bent down breathing into my ear and scared me out of my chair. I closed my eyes waiting to hit the floor but just before I had I felt someone catch me. I looked up to see who it was that had caught me and to my surprise it was john! He was smiling at me with lust filling his gaze. As soon as I saw that I could help but start to blush. I quickly said thanks you, mixed with the blush it caused him to let out a jolly laugh. As he was bringing me to my feet he whispered into my ear that he liked me a lot. After hearing this I became braver. I asked him if there was anything I could do for him for saving me from falling. He looked at me and told me that he was sure I could do something for him and that I was to meet him in the barn after everyone goes to bed.…
