Creative Writing: Oedipus The King
As Richard had not remained celibate during the years without Lexi, he knew it'd was incomprehensible for a woman as attractive and intelligent as her not to have taken lovers. However, that certainty, let alone the details of Lexi's sexual liaisons with other men, how many and who, was a matter that the Hacker had long attempted to never contemplate, but that they must have occurred became evident to Richard with her demand for control; a request he'd never have expected of her back in the times of their adolescent love-making.

The initial fear that it'd been because he'd gone too hard in a subconscious attempt to reclaim her sexually over those others quickly receded, to replaced by a laugh, as he found himself pleasantly surprised. When

It took everything in Richard's power to not come right there and then, the teasing, seductive words, and Lexi's demeanour so erotic, that being inside her would almost be more bearable. "If you don't fucking hurry up, I will be bad, bend you over and spank that perfect ass of red raw, until you beg me to …show more content…
His expression was one of pure adoration and contentment as, caressing the skin of her waist and abdomen with his nails, he tugged her closer, and planted a kiss on Lexi's forehead. After the stresses of the day, and the tension relieved by powerful orgasm, he was fully satiated and totally spent. If nothing else, the aftereffects of their respective climaxes would hopefully allow the two to obtain a restful night's sleep in each others arms, before they woke to the reality of what the next day brought. "No wonder I want you to marry

“Suddenly, surprisingly, she kissed him. Her lips on his lips for a brief moment, her body pressed against him, immersed in the clean soap smell of her. Him, Barney Snow, big ears, scruffy hair, bowlegged. And dying. Kissed by this girl, Cassie Mazzofono, whom he loved, who was looking at him now with such tenderness and affection and maybe even a flash of love, gone as quickly as it came but shining out of her for a sweet instant here in this twilight room.” (Cormier…

""Feel good, Lexi? It does, doesn't it? You're dripping all over me. Slut!"" He still managed to taunt, as with the Heiress body now pinned flat to the mattress by his, his hands slid under her. Nails scratched the skin of her abdomen, and scraped an erect nipple as he pinched and twisted it, and the other moved to her clit. "Useless…

Norris' lips curled up into a tight smile as he led her towards the vehicle. "Yes, Juvenile, though it's to be expected, considering you're a dyke, and lack experience with men. Vulgar is our natural state." As to her question of whether it had turned him on, the rapist left that unanswered, aware of the conflict between any denial, and the erection he sported. Though that was mostly a product of his anticipation of the night's events, Pete wasn't about to provide Ms Helm with ammunition to call him a liar; that concern forgotten when his mind was distracted by rare misgivings.…

The scene was one of cosy domesticity, a man and a woman sharing breakfast after a night out clubbing together. Married? Lovers? Boyfriend and girlfriend, or just a platonic relationship, it could have been any of the three, and the scene would have been mirrored in many homes across Rome. They were normal. Or at least, together, they contained a semblance of normality, which to Kyle, was almost as eerie a sensation as was the morning after his first murder to know that the woman across from him, the one who’d have reason to never trust another man, or allow one to touch her ever again, had entrusted him to hold her in his arms as she slept. And held no regrets for having done so, and not just that. She’d also revealed details to him of her life experiences that she doubted to spoken of with such earnestness and honesty to anyone before him, and he’d returned the favour without a second thought. With her eyes closed, and her soft breathing, and the faintest of snores, but no drooling, she’d appeared so serene and peaceful, and the Army veteran hoped that he’d been in same way responsible for the lack of nightmares.…

In the study of Greek plays, one tries to recreate for an experience, to recapture something of what is meant to those for whom it was written. We know more about the life of Sophocles than we know do about the lives of any other Greek playwright, but this still is not a lot. Sophocles’ work has been said to be the pinnacle of Greek tragedy. Oedipus the King is something like the literary Mona Lisa of ancient Greece. It presents a nightmare vision of a world turned upside down; a decent man, Oedipus, becomes the king of Thebes, whilst in the process unknowingly fulfilling a prophecy that he would kill his father and marry his mother. As scholars, we are bound to relate this story through history, to ask what the writer really meant, how…

Oedipus The King is most likely one of the greatest tragedies ever recorded. This play tells the story of the great downfall of a once honored king who by the end of the story, becomes a great curse. This is mainly due to his great sense of pride. It was believed by the Greeks that people with this immense pride thought that they were above the gods. Aristotle believed that the protagonist of every tragedy must have some type of tragic flaw that will eventually lead to his demise. To Oedipus ,of Oedipus The King, pride is his tragic flaw that leads to his downfall. Some examples of his pride taking over him were: when he correctly answered the Sphinx’s riddle, when he abandoned his adoptive parents in Corinth, and when he killed Laius in the crossroads.…

"What walks on four legs at dawn, two legs at noon, and three legs at nightfall." This was the riddle posed by the Sphinx who at the time was destroying the city of Thebes. The riddle was solved by none other than Oedipus who was made king for ridding the city of the Sphinx. Ironically though, Oedipus in his life comes to embody the riddle of the Sphinx and its soulution. Firstly, the Sphinx is percieved as a curse on Thebes and Oedipus also becomes a curse by the end of the play. Secondly, Oedipus's physical health embodies the riddle. Thirdly, Oedipus's emotional state also resembles the riddle. Lastly, the events of Oedipus's life relate to the theme of identity in the play.…

“Oedipus the King” was a tale depicting the human experience; each human has a great victory, shortly accompanied by a great demise; the rollercoaster of life. Oedipus had his great success soon become the reason for his fall. With Oedipus’ deadly flaw being ‘hubris’; his excessive pride led him to believe he was on the level of ‘gods’. Once he paraded that he was invulnerable (untouchable by even the gods), his fall would be all the more tragic. Throughout the tale however, Oedipus uses many rhetorical devices towards all his subjects without even recognizing.…

Of all the tragedies that Greek playwright Sophocles created in his illustrious career, the one that stands out as his masterpiece, and quite possibly one of the greatest of all the Greek tragedies is Oedipus the King. The tragedy focuses on the life and downfall of the unfortunate King Oedipus, who was condemned by the oracle at an early age to murder his father and marry his mother. Despite the oracle’s grim prediction, Oedipus was responsible for his own downfall due to his overly proud and impetuous attitude, and his own intellect and diligence.…
