Coyote Research Paper

What many people don’t know is that the movement or position of a coyote’s ears is used to express their mood. Of all of the facts I have read over coyotes, these are the ones I found the most interesting.

The coyote uses a wide variety of different noises to communicate with others, and is a very vocal animal. The coyote has many vocalizations including barks, growls, yips, whines, and howls. The long howl is used to let other coyotes know where it is located. Short barks usually indicate danger to oneself or to warn others of incoming danger. Their growls are used to show dominance, and they use their high-pitched barks to call their pups. Coyotes yip when welcoming another coyote into their pack(Coyote: Canis Latrans).

The coyote has a very significant way of breeding. In January, (the beginning of mating season), Tons of alone male coyotes will circle around the female coyote to court her, but she will only create a relationship with one of the males.The coyote can breed with dogs
For example, coyotes resemble their territories by marking them with urine. Usually, both of the parents feed and protect their young, as well as their territory. The coyote also has a very keen vision and a strong sense of smell. In the autumn and fall time, coyotes form a pack for more effectual hunting.

Coyotes look like a cross between a cat and a dog. Coyotes can easily get mistaken for a small to medium sized domestic dogs. They have large, triangular shaped ears on the top of their heads and a long, skinny muzzle. Their noses are black, they usually have yellow eyes, and they have a long, bushy tail. The coyote’s fur varies in color from a light brown to a grayish color, and the fur on their belly is usually white.

The facts I have stated above are the most interesting I have found while doing my research over the coyote. Coyotes are a very interesting mammal and the above reasons are why I chose them to do my research
