Comparative advantage is the “theory that countries should specialize in the production of goods and services they can produce most efficiently” (Hill, McKaig, pg.170). Many countries are able to produce goods better than others due to factor endowments which are brought out in the Heckscher-Ohlin Theory and in Porter’s Diamond. Factor endowments are the extent to which a country is endowed with resources such as land, labour and capital (Hill, McKaig, pg.177). Costs are lowered if the resource is more abundant. With the case in Brazil, an increase in production due to more land available allowed for the increase in exports to China. This gave Brazil the competitive edge over the US who experienced a shortage in production of soybean due to drought.…

Through this whole semester we have been studying Zip-6 and it's conversion from the United States to Global and other countries but as there success has been good in other markets we still are researching new countries to try to enable them to expand there market and once again I am doing the research to advice them. These Countries can maybe create a political and economic risk for Zip-6 and for me: Bolivia, In December 2005, Bolivians elected Movement Toward Socialism leader Evo MORALES president - by the widest margin of any leader since the restoration of civilian rule in 1982 - after he ran on a promise to change the country's traditional political class and empower the nation's poor, indigenous majority. The constitution, drafted in 2006–07 and approved in 2009, provides for balanced executive, legislative, judicial, and electoral powers, as well as several levels of autonomy. The traditionally strong executive branch tends to overshadow the Congress, whose role is generally limited to debating and approving legislation initiated by the executive. The judiciary, consisting of the Supreme Court and departmental and lower courts, has long been riddled with corruption and inefficiency. Through revisions to the constitution in 1994, and subsequent laws, the government has initiated potentially far-reaching reforms in the judicial system as well as increasing decentralizing powers to departments, municipalities, and indigenous territories. So we can see the government was corruptive and trying to clean up, but this takes time. Economic, Bolivia is one of the poorest and least developed countries in Latin America. Following a disastrous economic crisis during the early 1980s, reforms spurred private investment, stimulated economic growth, and cut poverty rates in the 1990s. The period 2003-05 was characterized by political instability, racial tensions, and violent protests against plans - subsequently abandoned - to export Bolivia's…

“Reforms, openness to international trade, and growing tourism and mining industries have facilitated rapid growth in the past” (“Economy: Population, GDP, Inflation, Business, Trade”). Furthermore, many free trade agreements have created a foundation for domestic reforms and the building of institutions. Even with a democracy in place, corruption within government still continues to be an issue. Another issue that is at large in Peru is the drug trade. Peru is the largest producer of cocaine in the world thanks to massive ungoverned areas used to grow coca, which make cocaine.…
