Proposal for In-House Training Programme for Local Government Councilors

Please find in the pages that follow details of our proposal for a knowledge and skills development programme for “Local Government Councilors”.

This activity driven and highly interactive knowledge and skills development programme is designed to equip participants with requisite knowledge and skills to be more effective within the public sector in which they operate. Assuming public office has its perks, however, it also comes with a lot of responsibilities as well as expectations from the members of the public.

The immediate and long-term benefits of this high impact programme include:

1. Effectiveness and efficiency within grass root level of governance
2. Competency in the leadership of Local Government Areas
3. Better relationship between stakeholders and Local Government Councilors
4. Accountability and transparency in Local Government administration
