Corey Fogelmanis's Role In The Movie 'Safe As Houses'
Starting his acting career in a small TV show in 2011, 16-year-old Corey Fogelmanis, recently expanded his acting career, and is going to be staring in his first movie; “Safe As Houses.” “Limitless Magazine” had a chance to sit down with the star earlier this month, and he gave us the inside scoop of the upcoming movie. Emra Patterson (EP): What character do you play in the new movie “Safe as Houses”?
Corey Fogelmanis (CF): I play 14-year-old David McBride in the movie. He’s a super tough and cool character, with a little bit of an attitude, but overall I love the role.
EP: Was it hard for you to connect to this character?
CF: Well I’m not going to lie, when I first read the script for this movie, I knew I would be a great fit for the role. In a way I have a similar personality to David. He is a sweet kid, who cares deeply for his younger sister Suzie, but he also has a childish side. He tries to start fights sometimes, but I mean what teenage boy doesn't.
EP: Do you know why the director choose to change the age of your character ‘David McBride’?

When the whole producing team for the movie sat down and talked about the details of the movie, we decided as a whole to make the characters ‘David McBride’, and ‘Lizzie Hardy’ older. This is because we wanted the ages of the two main characters to be closer to the age of most of the intended viewers of the movie. The ages also changed because the director wanted the characters to be older so that there is the opportunity for possible crush, or relationship to form between the two of them. That’s all I can say about that though, you’ll have to watch the movie to see what

Dialogue is a very common technique in displaying a character’s temperament. When the way a person reacts with others around them is seen, a definite opinion is created. We see examples of this in ‘Just Lather, That’s All’. Captain Torres is seen as a cruel monster when he refers to a firing squad as “a fine show”. Once the man opens his mouth, the reader is able to make an assessment of his personality. David is involved in a substantial amount of dialogue in ‘The Harness’. He speaks as though he is putting great effort into being mature, as is evidenced by the statement “you always say such funny things, Art!” Few young children speak in an equal, maybe even condescending, manner to their parents. We see David’s struggle to please his father through his dialogue with him.…

“Life would be infinitely happier if we could only be born at the age of eighty and gradually approach eighteen.” This is a quote from Mark Twain that inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald to write his short story, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in 1922. The adaption of literature into film was made in 2008, filmed and directed by David Fincher and storyline by Eric Roth. The Movie (as stated) is a very lose adaption of the book, and the two differ greatly. There are any reasons why it took so long to make a film of a human being living life backwards, one being that the technicality was not created yet. The book and the movie hold the same idea of Benjamin’s strange, unusual aging process, but this is the only comparison between the two. I was astonished by how different the two are from each other.…
