CONTRACT CHEATING

INTRODUCTION
My chosen topic is going to be on contract cheating. This has become one of the major a major reason for academic dishonesty. It is also a good way to be charged with plagiarism. My motto on this subject is “If you don’t do the work, you don’t need to receive credit for it.”

SUMMARY
Contract cheating is when a person pays someone else to do their work and they receive the credit for it. Students contract out their work and then workers, most known as freelance computer coders bid on the work according to (Lancaster and Clark2006.) Contract cheating is a form of cyber-pseudepigraphy which is obtaining the work of another via the internet in order to submit it as their own. This form of cheating is totally against the universities rules and is a major form of academic dishonesty. Some internet auction sites are legitimate businesses facilitating work contracts to help students get over or even cheat and still get credit for it. When a student contracts out their work, they are not benefiting from it. For one, they are not learning from it and secondly, they are putting themselves in a predicament to be punished.

REFLECTION
In reading this article I have realized that each person has to do their own work. I don’t think that there is really no way of getting around this. I am really surprised at some of the things that students will try and do to get over on the system or to even get their work done.

APPLICATION
As an online student I realize that you really have to work hard. It is not in your best interest to get others to do your work for you. In the end, you still will not have any knowledge on the subject. As an online student, I realize that you could easily get others to do your work, but that could be risky. You may not know if it is their original or if they plagiarized it.

CONCLUSION
In concluding with this article I realize that there are very bad consequences to contract cheating. You could be thrown out of school or your financial aid could be taken.

Academic integrity: All work submitted in each course must be your own original work. This includes all assignments, exams, term papers, and other projects required by your instructor. Knowingly submitting another person’s work as your own, without properly citing the source of the work, is considered plagiarism. Nearly everyone would agree that cheating is wrong. It would be difficult to find anyone who is willing to support the view that cheating is a noble method of getting anything done. “Cheating is taking work done by somebody else […] and saying it is yours.” (Colleen Wenke 532). Through the use of contrast, surveys, credibility, and emotions, Wenke is able to successfully make her claim that cheating will decline only when the need for a grade without the work diminishes and the desire for knowledge is resurrected in a student’s mind.…

The topic I chose is informed consent. It is a difficult and complex topic with many different laws and viewpoints. The laws of consent often vary by state and in my opinion are often not fully understood by many people. There are many ethical issues that can take place from not completely understanding the consent form. Many people do not read the form at all and consequently do not know their rights as a patient. Patients sometimes sign the consent form without fully understanding everything that is required for them to know. When an issue comes up it can then quickly escalate to an ethical issue that can only be resolved in court because they were not aware of all the possibilities. Patients must not agree to the consent form without being…

Plagiarism is the use of idea and words that are not your own. Surely you're aware of that if you are reading this. But stop and think for a moment why you're tempted to use this service. My first issue that i chose was a national issue that has been common theme of talk in the college ranks College players getting paid to play sports. In the article it states the facts on why they should not get paid and really states the proper way to compensate college athletes. This is an issue that we talked about in the class and it really interested me how they have not came up with any solution to pay athletes. In the article he covers what benefits scholarships do and don't have. He talks about the cost of living stipend that should be implemented into scholarships and how what the schools and leagues makes would make this easy to happen and would benefit everyone without spending that much extra money. He also does mention in the end that even though this is a good solution the questions would still rise weather there will be cheating in college sports. The growing knowledge is that the big name schools will dominate the recruiting scene if they start paying college athletes because they make so much more money than anyone else.…

It’s also important due to the fact it will save people lives if people knew about driving under the influence. Drunk driving has a tremendous impact on the criminal justice system as a result more police officers would have to go and investigate drunk drivers, charge them with DUI’s, then later have to process them into jail. I would like to study drunk driving because of more and more people are losing their lives to drunk drivers and there needs to be a better way to control drunk drivers to save their lives and others.…
