We contribute to a contamination free environment and live healthy life eating meat in reasonable amount. Eating mostly vegetable is more sustainable then eating meat. However, in comparison to the typical supermarket products and the “humane” labeled products is that they differ in prices. This is where the problem erupts. These people who are making an effort in doing the “right thing” and making sure the products they consume are humane and come from humane farming are the ones who are being charged more. This is only because only 3.2 percent of the population follow a vegetarian-based diet and only 0.5 percent are vegan. Since being vegetarian and vegan is not really a norm their is less demand on humane products therefore making them more expensive. Also, since humane farms are smaller corporations the amount of people who actually consume their food is smaller in comparison to big factory farms who have their products in display through big well known supermarkets. This is also a reason in why small humane farms suffer when it comes to gaining money and another reason in why they are forced to raise their prices in order to be able to keep their farms operating and…

This high demand is attempting to be met by factories, but the animals that are being slaughtered are now suffering to a far greater extent. Animals such as cows, pigs, and chickens are packed into incredibly small areas, fed additive ingredients for fattening, and enduring torturous conditions. Additionally, those consuming the meat have a higher chance of contracting bacteria and pathogens as a result of an increase in contamination. The corporations are also putting the small town farmer out of work and into debt. Now that companies that practice these unethical processes in the factory farming industry have become such a dominant part of the average american's diet is this process doing more harm than good. The United States must improve the ethics of factory farms, for the sake of the animals and those who eat them, by enforcing stricter regulations as well as improve conditions of the…

Most people have some concern for their health and would not do something reckless to jeopardize it. This can be considered a true statement if we were all vegetarians, but since we are not then it cannot be true. Eating meat is one of the most detrimental things we can consume in our bodies and it has been linked to a multitude of diseases and ailments. According to Vegetarian Times (2001) eating a diet free of meat helps to eliminate hypertension, cancers, Type 2 diabetes and kidney disease. When we eat meat we are consuming a carcinogenic substance called Methylcholanthrene. In a study found in Macmillan Dictionary of Toxicology (1999) this substance is a known cancer causing agent and is associated with cooking meat products.
