According to a State Representative of Florida; Matt Gaetz. In the states that do not allow open carry violent crimes are twenty-three percent higher. These violent crimes defined by federal officials as: murder, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault. There is no direct proof that open carry caused the decrease in crime, but it is proof that the open carry law does not increase the rate of crime. The article, "Supreme Court Declines to Hear Case on Concealed Gun Restrictions" is about a case that was declined by the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday. The case, Peruta v. California, argues the good cause requirement in order for residents to be able to applying for a license to carry a concealed weapon infringes on Second Amendment rights. This mean the U.S Supreme Court was presented with a case about the Second Amendment and dismissed the court without hearing it. I believe the U.S Supreme Court should’ve listen to the case and not just this case, but every case. If someone is filing a lawsuit it’s because they was concerned about a certain topic. Therefore, their problem should be solved.…

As commonly known, protection means a thing, person, or group that protects. In this case, protection is a firearm. Across the United States, conceal and carry is a law that allows a trained licensed owner to possess a weapon for protection in times of desperation. In this generation, school employees should be allowed to conceal and carry, because the potential dangers that schools face could be stopped in a moment’s notice to protect all from harm. An attempt to stop a mass attack is more helpful than ignoring the fact lives are at risk.…

Even if someone doesn’t have a bad record, that doesn’t mean that they are not bad people. It is very hard to tell if someone can be trusted while having a gun out in public. People should open carry, due to the fact that there is a lot of violence in this nation. According to the statistic in the article, Careful with the Panic: Violent Crime and Gun Crime Are Both Dropping, Gun crime was at its highest percentage in 1993, and has been declining since then. This decline in homicides is probably due to the fact that people got smart and started buying guns for protection. More Americans should own guns, not only because it is good protection, but if everyone knew how to at least shoot a gun, then some people would not be so afraid of them. “The first rule of not being a victim is not looking like a victim… The best way to avoid a fight is to look like you can win one”(Zimmerman). Most criminals will not mess with someone that they feel as if they could put up a fight. They want to pick out the weakest looking victim. A person carrying a gun in the open is not someone that a criminal would want to mess with most of the time. So that right there is another reason more people should openly carry a…

Up to what extent would you go for protection? Many colleges and universities have to come to a controversial argument on whether guns should be allowed on campus. The Students for Gun Free Schools (SGFS) is one of two organizations who is involved in this controversial argument. The SGFS is against the idea of students carrying guns on campus because they believe, as stated in their motto, they are “armed with knowledge, not guns!” (Kirszner and Mandell 633). The other organization is the Students for Concealed Carry (SCC). The SCC is pro-gun concealed carry organization that formed because of the unforgettable and horrendous incidents that have happened in the past years. The idea of guns on campus should not be tolerated because it may cause more collateral damage since the shooters won’t have enough experience, it can cause an interruption and distraction in everyone’s college education, and more permits would be more accessible to non-law abiding citizens.…
