You should be able to understand and navigate the company and be able to influence others. When leading yourself first and foremost you should be able to manage yourself and be able to increase self-awareness, you should also be able to demonstrate ethics, integrity, display drive and purpose, be willing to learn something new every day and develop adaptability. In order to lead others number one you should be able to communicate effectively with other. As a leader you should value diversity and difference within the company and be able to build and maintain relationships with employees and know their strengths and weaknesses and apply work task to those appropriately. Competency based leadership leads to more precise staffing assessments and has a lesser amount of risk of unfairness or discrimination. However competency based leadership have its flaws. It can make it difficult for applicants to express themselves and they can be seen as being too firm.…
