I like my choices." Augustus is saying that you don't get to decide wither or not you get hurt, its inevitable. That's life. But though he understands that he will get hurt, he wants to choose who hurts him, or at least try and choose. He then says that he likes his choices, that means that he choose Hazel, so if anyone was to hurt him, he would like it to be Hazel Grace.
“Pain depends to be felt” (Ch. 4) When I was in a crisis that was unbearable. I was full of pain to the point where if I kept in it hurts even more. It demanded me to feel it. I started cutting it took the pain of the crisis and made me pay attention to the blood. In a way it made me relief, but it wasn’t the right way to do it. I eventually stop.

Hazel lungs are filled with fluids which make it hard for her to breath without and oxygen tank. Augustus on the other hand has lost a leg during his battle to cancer, he now uses a prosthetic leg on a daily basis. Most of the main characters have cancer or deal with it on the daily basis. Cancer affects many people everyday, it tears millions of families apart daily. Hazel and Gus have a romantically tragedy story. The teens fall in love despite that they are ill. Love has flaws, there will never be a real world love story that is flawless or perfect. The young teens struggle with their health but that does not stop them from falling in love with one another. They have there own way special way of
