Rogue waves are dangerous massive waves that come unpredictably, but tsunamis are more clear and cause destruction with multiple big waves. Rogue waves and tsunamis have some similarities, but also have many differences. Rogue waves are powerful and unsystematically disastrous big waves seen far out in deep waters. Based on what the text says, “The surrounding sea can appear calm when suddenly a wave as high as 100 feet above the ocean’s surface comes crashing towards you” (Simmons 58). A rogue wave could be as tall as a skyscraper or as small as a current depending on its interference. Rogue waves are giant, imposing waves that can be caused by components like wind and the collision of multiple waves.
