Some people in this world don't like to talk and they need someone to talk for them well

that is what this song means to me. How she wants to break free and go on her own.To

have a opinion and to say what you are thinking.

What the song “Break Away “ means to me is that she is trying to tell her family that she

is ready to leave her home. Like if she was a bird and she wanted to leave the nest and she is

spreading her wings and learning how to fly. And what she is saying with that is that she want to

leave the house and do things on her own. She is also saying that she is not a baby and she can

take care of herself. I can kind of relate to her because I am trying to

With the fear sparked in many of us due to the recent presidential election as well as the many examples of how the government has failed and oppressed the minority of this country, “I Get Out” by Lauryn Hill seems to be a very significant, symbolic, and appropriate anthem. On her live album titled, “MTV Unplugged No. 2.0”, which was released on May 7th, 2002, Ms. Hill speaks on many social issues and personal realizations. On “I Get Out”, she analyzes the government and its relationship with herself, as well as other minorities. The song holds a sense of rebellion and seems to encourage self-liberation as she speaks of setting herself free of the struggles, prejudices, traditions, and oppression, amongst many things, brought into the lives…

Senior year is like listening to a broken radio that repeats the same phrase over and over again. As an incoming freshman in college, we are still unable to throw this broken radio out. We've been forced to listen to the phrase "How are you going be successful in college?" I believe that everyone has a different definition of being successful in college. For me, being successful in college is keeping up with my grades and living my life to the fullest.…

The song that I’ve chosen to analyze is called “Good Hurt” by Chappell Roan. The artist’s birth name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, she’s 19, and she’s from Willard, Missouri. Her love of music began when she started taking piano lessons at age 12. She composed a song in 2014 called “Die Young,” at Interlochan Arts Camp (YouTube, 2014). She said (Holman, 2017),“No one in my family is musical, none of my cousins, no one in my immediate family is musical.” When she was 14, she had already tried out for America’s Got Talent, but unfortunately, didn’t make it. When she was 16, her dreams finally came true and she was signed by Atlantic Records. Her debut single “Good Hurt” was released August 3rd, 2017. In a recent interview, she revealed (Holman, 2017),…

The refrain that is repeated throughout the song is, “Forgive me, I'm trying to find my calling, I'm calling at night. I don't mean to be a bother, but have you seen this girl? She's been running through my dreams and it's driving me crazy, it seems. I'm going to ask her to marry me.” At the beginning of this song these line are used to show how the man of the story has fallen head-over-heels for a girl. Rihanna’s Billboard hit, Needed Me, has reached itself in the tenth spot this week. Needed me has been been a summer anthem for girls worldwide, that radiates feministic views. In the first line of the song Rihanna states that she doesn't need anyone to be herself. It is a powerful way to draw a listener in and make them feel the same. When female artist talk about men in their songs, the lyrics usually are about being in love. Rihanna took a different approach with this one. Through the lyrics she is saying that she once was affected by men but not anymore. Proudly stating that she doesn’t care about a fairytale and even that she is okay with being a savage too. What is surprising about Rihanna is that instead of focusing on a song about being…

In verse 1, Eminem speaks of how he knows that Hailie misses her mom and when he’s always away as well, however, he explains how he knows that Hailie is alone but he is working hard to give Hailie a life that he wasn’t able to live. Then, he focuses on Laina, stating that she probably thinks that her uncle is probably insane but at the end, his intentions are good and that he loves her.
