College Essay I am going to talk about an experience that changed my life in more ways than one. I had a really bad car accident with one of my really good friends. It has made me rethink a lot of aspect’s in my life. It has brought me new family and a different, a better way to think about life. The first thing this car accident did for me was bring me new family. My buddy who was driving when we wrecked has now become closer than family to me. It has really changed my life now that we are as close as we are. I also gained new family from this wreck. His family has become a second family. They have become really close with me and them. The second thing the wreck did for me was help me realize how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away from you. Everyday is a gift and you have to live life like everyday is going to be your last. I think that is super important. Do anything that you want don’t let fear or people hold you back from your dreams. Do everything you want to do in life. Leave no regrets because you want to leave this planet knowing you did everything possible to have an amzing life. The wreck has really changed a lot of my life, helping me think different about a lot in life, think about it in a better way. This is how my life changing experience has bettered my life and I am thankful for it.

The significance of this event for me was that it forced me to learn how to allow myself to express my feelings properly. You see before when I lost someone close to me I would just get high and numb the feelings of anger, low self-esteem, loneliness, and having to make sound decisions. Now I had to actually go through these feelings without using, it was scary and there were times I thought about using, but didn’t. I grew emotionally through the process, but I also started to speak openly and honestly with my family which caused friction amongst us.…

My friends and I were out riding around trying to decide if we wanted to go to Carowinds. I was driving too fast and jerking the wheel back and forth. I lost control of the car. The car ran off the edge of the road, and I hit a ditch damaging the left side of the car. The car then spun around and the right side of the car hit the ditch. The airbags popped out and hit me in the face. After we stopped spinning I asked my friends if they were ok. Fortunately, none of us got hurt. I had to call my parents and tell them that I wrecked the car. The police came and gave me a ticket and showed me at fault in the wreck. The wrecker picked up the car and took it to the body shop. The insurance adjuster looked at the car and said it was totaled. I had to wait a long time before my parents would even consider getting me another car. I had to go back to waiting for someone to pick me or asking somebody else for a ride. Although wrecking my car will always be an unpleasant memory of my first car, it taught me a valuable lesson about driving safely.…

The trip started off like any other hectic family vacation, full of last minute packing and arguing. None of us had any idea as to where we would end up, but as I was told repeatedly, it was all part of the adventure. We got about three hours in, and what happens? We get in an accident. Not just an accident, a wreck. The whole front of the van was smashed in. After all of the paperwork was filled out and the car was towed off, we had to get a rental. The rental car really wasn’t that bad. It was a Cadillac Escalade, but the only pain was having to unload and then reload our luggage into the SUV. We eventually just stayed the night about an hour out from where the accident had occurred. We all figured that after something ridiculous like wreck happens, our trip could only go up. The next few days would show us that we were sadly mistaken.…
