My goal for college is to be as successful as I can. I want to become a teacher so I need to pay attention in classes and make good grades. My freshman year I was not as prepared as I needed to be so this semester I want to do better than I did previously. Afterwards, I hope to graduate with above a 3.0. In my career, I want to be the best teacher that I can possibly be. I want my students to look up to me and feel as though they learned something from me. I want parents to feel like I made a difference in their child’s life. Some children think that they did not have a good teacher, or there teacher could have done a better job teaching them the material. I want my students to actually want to come to class and learn. I was always told "don't plan too far ahead, because something will always come in your way," and I never listened. At a young age I began creating scenarios for my future and attending University of Florida has always been a part of my goals. If I were to be granted admission I would make sure I got the full college experience by working hard to be at the top of my class, joining a club that revolves around my hobbies, and of course, making myself proud.…

My educational goal is to attend Western Oregon University and graduate with a bachelors degree in biology. I want to major in biology because my goal is to become a dentist. After graduating from Western Oregon University I will apply to a dental school to earn a dental degree. During my college career I will work hard to maintain a high grade point average just like I have in high school. My goal for high school was to get a 4.0 all through high school so that I could be the valedictorian. I was able to achieve this by doing my homework every night and studying tirelessly. There was times when I thought that I wasn't going to be able to accomplish this. For example, this year I am taking AP physics and I have always struggled with science…

College is an open door to many opportunities especially for someone like me who comes from a conservative culture in which most believe the working field is not for women. Times have changed and yet an employed woman is looked down upon. Many girls dream about having a bright future only to see it shatter once they become older and their opportunities are seized. I want to be able to beat the odds and go against the old-fashioned beliefs of my culture. To do so I need to achieve a higher education. I am planning on attending a community college to receive my two years of general education and then graduate to a university to major in physical therapy. I have excelled in high school, will continue to do so in college, and be able to graduate from college.…

I'm always positive and confident on what I set my mind to.…

“If I were you, I would go to UCLA. You may not realize it, but you will appreciate being close to home” my father told me as senior year of high school came to an end. 18 years living in the same house with my family made me want to get as far away from California as I could for college. UCLA, a 50-minute drive from my home in Irvine, did not seem as exciting as going off to the east coast by myself, which was always how I envisioned my college experience. As a naïve 18-year-old, I figured I no longer needed my parents’ help. I would go to Baltimore and be fine on my own, because after all, it was through my own hard work that I had been accepted to college.…

To be successful in college one needs to have a plan. My plan is to finish high school with an Academic Honors Diploma, go to a fantastic college, graduate with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and find a job I love. Throughout college I would like to be in different clubs, softball, and possibly in a sorority. During high school I never got the chance to be in any clubs because during the fall and winter I was on the high school bowling team, and the spring I was on the high school softball team. Now that I am not going to be doing bowling for college I will have time to be in some clubs. I have been in softball since I was a little girl, and being able to play in college has always been a dream of mine. I do not know anyone in a sorority,…

Teachers have a very important responsibility of shaping the lives of young, impressionable children. With this responsibility comes great pride and joy. Therefore, as a high school teacher I want to strive to be what can be considered as, a "good teacher." A good teacher can be defined as someone who always pushes students to want to do their best while at the same time trying to make learning interesting as well as creative. A positive or negative influence from a teacher early on in life can have a great effect on the life of a child. As part of my goal statement I plan to incorporate all of these qualities to become the teacher that I expect and want to be.…

I was raised with the beliefs that there is an importance of having security in all aspects of life, whether that is financial, physical, or emotional. These were, and still are, the ultimate objectives I have for myself and every action I take and have taken has been formed around this sentiment. My parents taught me that “dreams are the touchstones of our character” and that it is important to dream big while remaining clear on goals and realistic with decisions. On the path to deciding my future, their advice remains with me and assists in establishing myself in the goals that I have set.…
