Abstract The Broadway Café was first established in 1952 by my grandfather. The Broadway Café immediately became the hotspot, but over time lost business due to its lack of ability to compete with competitors in the 21st century. I have recently inherited the Broadway Café and have transformed it into the business it should be in the 21st century. I started the café off with a competitive advantage where it can level with competitors around the area. The café has affordable and reasonable prices for the customers which puts the café at a cost leadership advantage and as well as a differentiation advantage with its unforgettable recipes that my grandfather has kept all these years. The Broadway Café has managed to stay at a competitive advantage by implementing IT into the café. There’s available entertainment on certain nights, Wi-Fi and a Kiosk accessible to the customers, a customer loyalty program

The four topics that I selected to discuss with Mr. Brannon were taken from Chapters 6-9, as I found them to be applicable to Mr. Brannon’s organization and his role with his organization. I found the interview to be quite interesting and informing. It was amazing to learn that Mr. Brannon’s responses were similar to the course readings. It is my opinion that Mr. Brannon was very forthcoming in his answers and the overall interview was delightful. It was an experience that I am glad to have.…

In these days, one of employees heard a rumor that Starbucks might be opening a store nearby and concerned about the future affection of business. What we can do first to improve this situation is paying close attention to the competition through environmental scanning. It is the acquisition and analysis of events and trends in the environment external to an organization. Practically, we should first search and find out business advantages of competitors. For example, as a competitor, Starbucks did very well in its business from various ways shown on its website. So, firstly, Broad Cafe needs to set up an advanced computer system as what Starbucks does. And the system should be able to record and store every transaction, clients’ information accurately and in details. In addition, reward yourself is another way for enhancing business development by offering gifts for holidays, birthdays. The last but the most important is the design of the menu which can contain special for certain periods.
