An example provided by SAC is that if a prospective student received a letter from the BRN regarding board requirements, the Health Sciences/Nursing Office will need to be contacted to schedule a meeting to discuss procedures. Prospective students who needs OBGYN/Psych clinical will not be allowed in the program if content part of course is not required. For Med/Surgical courses, students will need to take the entire nursing program regardless what is needed by the student (Santa Ana College, 2016).
As part of the SAC nursing program guide book, SAC reiterated that all staff and nursing students must adhere to the code of conduct. Part of this code of conduct is that all nursing faculty, students, and entire institution will follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 guidelines. Any violations of patient confidentiality is not only a violation of school code of conduct but also a violation of federal law which can then result in legal issues for nursing staff, student, and school (Santa Ana College, 2016).
For SAC, they do provide the nursing program handbook which has all the policy and procedure that is being followed by nursing faculty. It is readily available on the SAC
