Cnc Reflection
For my CFNC tests, I took the interest profiler, career cluster survey, basic skills survey, the career key and the work values sorter. Based on these tests, I already knew most of what it told me. These tests helped me better understand myself, the few things I didn't recognize in myself it helped me realize that I am really like that. Because I took these tests, later in life the results will help me tell my future employers what I'm good at and what I struggle with. Most of the jobs CFNC gave me I never would've thought of, most of them were crazy and things I've never heard of. I don't know where I want to go to college, I haven't found any place that interest me yet, but I hope I find one soon. The assessments affirmed my previous beliefs,

When receiving my results from the Conley Readiness Index assessment I learned many of my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to my academic and career skills. My biggest strength is precision/accuracy which I scored a 5.0 in (and it is also the highest score you can receive in a subject area). To capitalize on this strength I should continue to make accuracy a habit and plan time to review my work. The second biggest strength i obtain is contextual awareness which I received a score of 4.6 in. To build on this skill set more I should make a habit of using advising and career services to learn about expectations. The last strength I gathered information about is ownership of learning which i scored a 4.5 in. I should continue to develop…

In the book Nickel and Dimed on (Not) getting by in America, the author lived a life of a low wage worker. This experiment, while deemed insightful by some people, was considered dull and unrealistic to one of my classmates. In response to the question, “What parts of the book made Ehrenreich’s experience unrealistic?” my peer said, “She didn’t experience what low wage workers really went through. In Into the Wild, McCandless really went into the wild and experienced everything, but Ehrenreich didn’t live a poor life. If she had done that it would have made for a much more interesting book.” I agree with my classmate on this comment because while I did learn about some struggles that low wage workers have to go through, I didn’t learn what…

After Monday’s presentation by the Broward College’s career coach, I am not sure which writing class will benefit me more in my future career. I had originally registered to take ENC1102: Composition II over the summer, but now I believe ENC2210: Professional and technical writing will help me more not only in my college career but also in the work field. ENC2210’s main objective is to introduce students to technical and professional writing. This class will teach me how to communicate professionally in different scenarios. According to the course description, ENC2210 will teach me how to properly write emails, letters, resumes, memos, reports, proposals, technical descriptions, technical definitions, and technical manuals.…

My RCS Capstone Experience challenged me by forcing me to speak infront of a large group of people, who have had more years of experience than I have. Also a physical challenge for I had to develope my upper body strength for the training I had to endure. Both of these things pushed me out of my confort zone, but in the long run I know they will be valuable skills for the future. I have been a volunteer at Jacobs Creek Fire Department for three years, but even with these years there is still always room for improvement. This topic is important to me because the people in my station are like family to me. I know even on my worst of days that they will always have your back. In addition being in the fire department brought me and my dad closer,…

This was a really eye opening experience. The inventory got me thinking about many different aspects and how I learn and approach different problems and situations. The implication is that the different selfs (physical, emotional, social, critical, creative, and passionate) affect how you learn. In some situations you might be more confident in yourself than others. However, after you complete the self profile it is not really well defined about what the term survival, maintenance, and enhancement means. I can deduce that the survival means that I am just getting by, the maintence means I am trying but have to work at it, and enhancement means that I have mostly mastered that portion of myself. This would open up a discussion with the support team as to what your strengths and weaknesses are. I know for myself by thinking about the questions, it made more aware and as I go into a situation, I might think differently about how I approach the…

The self-assessments were very helpful in exploring career possibilities. I was able to gain a better understanding of my interests, such as my skills, personality, and values. The self-assessments gave me a list of possible career fields and professions that matched my interests. This allowed me to explore other career fields and learn about the other employment opportunities out there that best matched my personal attributes. The self-assessment can be helpful in the future by allowing me to discover which type of nursing field I would want to specialize…

Reflection allows an individual to identify the reasons or purpose of understanding the outcome of a particular situation in depth in term of emotions on thought and feeling on the topic area. In addition, Reflection is something that we do implicitly as part of being human, underpinning our identities through a process of negotiation between our sense of self and our experiences of others (Demetriou, 2000, p.210). Therefore, I have implemented this quote in my professional and personal goals I wanted and have achieved thought-out the process of the module. I have made continues effort in building my confidence in situations that I have felt uncomfortable in.…

The career plan building activity: reasoning aptitude helped me realize my strengths and opportunities. The results in the strength category were lower than I thought they would be. I scored the highest on adapting to change and that was the one that I felt I would have scored the lowest because I do not do very well with change unless I am prepared for the changes beforehand. When it came to researching, taking initiative, being innovative, organizing, and delivering results, I score 3 out of 5 possible points. I felt that with organizing and taking initiative, I would have had a higher score because I organize everything and I tend to take the initiative in a lot of situations at work, with school, and in my personal life.…

    2. With result of the assessment, I think this results accurately reflect my self-perceptions. The reason I why stated this because I preferred to use direct observation, information, and collect another fact for making a decision. This style is required high tolerance and I personally make the decision based on the fact of data or information to support before comes the final decision. For example, I choose Accounting for my major, it shows that my personality fit this related field based on the assessment because I have to deal with numbers, analysis, and other information.…
