Christmas has always been my favorite holiday of the year. As a child it was the one time of year that I thought I could get a glimpse of Santa Clause leaving me presents. What an exciting memory. I wish I could go back to when I was little. To this day, I always look forward to waking up early in the morning to be the first person to look at all the presents and then going to church. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Our house is warm with the spirit of Christmas. The best part of Christmas is feeling the warmth of love of family and friends coming together to celebrate the best holiday season. The month before Christmas is the time to start preparing everything for the holiday. I would always help my mom put up all the Christmas decorations and shop. I helped her put up the lights outside, the stockings up on the fire place and nativity scenes inside. My favorite decoration to put up is the Christmas tree. I love the anxious feeling you get when you’re putting the ornaments on the tree, placing every ornament in the right place and lining up every light so it shines in just the right place is fun. I like the excitement of turning the lights on for the first time. It just gets you in the mood for Christmas.
Then comes my favorite thing to do leading up to do Christmas, shopping. The best feeling is when I am laying down watching TV and my mom tells me that she is going to the mall with my sister and that’s when I know it’s time to go shopping for Christmas. I usually shop for clothes now since I am older. But, I miss those days shopping for fire trucks and Rescue Hero’s, it was fun being a young child with a great imagination.
On Christmas Eve it gets a little hectic at my house. My family and I are cleaning everything; rooms, basement, kitchen, and the backyard because my family always have all of our relatives over for the Christmas dinner. After cleaning, my mom usually cooks and gets foods ready for the party. Christmas Eve my family always goes to my Aunt Darlene’s house to eat. After going to my aunt’s house, my family heads home to do one of my favorite activities, wrapping presents.
Christmas Day was finally here I am always the first person in my family to wake everyone up to open presents and We have a big family and lots of friends that just stop by to enjoy the love and friendship of getting together to celebrate Christmas. This holiday season means so much to me. It brings me and my family, and friends together.
I really think that Christmas is the most important holiday that me and my family celebrate. It’s all about loving and caring about your family and being with them on Jesus’ birthday. I love my family and I love Christmas

My family celebrates Christmas. Christmas is my personal favorite holiday, for mostly selfish reasons, but reasons none the less. On Christmas Eve we start by going to my grandparents house and having a big dinner and opening stockings that my grandma hand made for us when we were born.
