What is America’s gift to my generation? This is a good question with many possible answers. One might say that America gave their generation freedom of speech. While another might say that America gave their generation freedom of religion. These are both good answers, but I say that America has given my generation so much more than just freedom of speech or religion, and many agree with me.America has given my generation the right to vote regardless of race or gender, the right to have our own personal belongings, the right to protest against something that we believe is wrong. America has given my generation the freedom to own weapons to defend ourselves and the freedom to go wherever we want and be whoever we want. America has given my generation…

America’s gift to my generation is freedom, America is now a symbol of freedom. Ever since July 4, 1776 America has been free. The most recognized laws for freedom in America is the original ten amendments. The first amendment states that you have the right of freedom of speech. That basically says you can’t say whatever you want and you can’t be criminalized for it. That is one gift America has given to my generation out of many. Another amendment probably the most recognized amendment is the second amendment stating that the American citizen has the right to bare arms. The only reason we have these rights is because of veterans willing to sacrifice their own lives to give us these freedoms. My father and brother…

Education is an important aspect of how the world survives. Without it, the next generation would never excel; therefore, defeating the purpose of a species to thrive and gain knowledge through reproduction. The way that education works is based upon what goals are set and who is supervising them. In the United States, there is a Department of Education that works with small groups to set standards. Other countries have extremely different systems, some more rigorous and others non-existent. In many other first world countries, higher education is paid for through the government which is something the U.S. was previously considering through the campaign of Bernie Sanders. In his article “Kenneth Cole Gets Schooled” David Sirota writes, “Taking an honest look at America’s education system brings up queries about why other less economically stratified nations have unionized teachers and far better academic results than here in America (761)” Students in other countries such as Korea, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, and Canada have far better academic results than those in America, yet the teachers are not the one who need to be accepting all the blame for the failing academic standards. I am an elementary education major and have grown up as a teacher’s kid and have always found this statement and fact somewhat interesting. Now attending college I understand this statement, and reasoning behind it, a bit more as I have begun to receive a better education.…

I love the fact that i can have an education because that way you can study something that you want to when you grow up and you can make your dreams come true.
