Gifts To America Essay
America’s Gift to My Generation “We must dare to be great; and we must realize that greatness is the fruit of toil and sacrifice and high courage.” - Teddy Roosevelt. With all of that America has done for us, this is very kosher. America has given us gifts that we can't even conduct our life without them. There are scores of them, some are education, freedom, and voting.
Education
In America, our education is very different from most countries. The reasons for this are the rights, the success that comes with it, and the skills that it exhibits to us. The rights that come to education is that anybody can entwine, no matter how individuals were in school before that, race, or gender. Education also displays a way to success in life. For example, education can demonstrate how to do a job that a person would like and be successful with. Education also proffers life skills that are critical to pass school and to be exceptional at a job. We have fought and worked so hard to earn all different types of freedoms and how important it is to us. One of the freedoms we have is “Freedom of Speech,” with this freedom we are allowed to say anything without getting in trouble with the government and with that privilege we can see who is with us or agrees with us. Think about it, what would America be without all these freedoms. We would be any other country, nothing special, what would have happened if Britain won. But that didn't happen, because in the beginning, we always wanted freedom and believed in it, we fought until we won. In other words, without freedom, there would be serious consequences in America. In our country, we have many liberties. All of which we most likely don’t always appreciate to the fullest. Every one of the liberties we have, has a story behind it. As a country, we have fought and taken so many risks for things we are passionate about and believe that we need. As individuals, we all work together in one way or another. That’s what connects us, and truly makes us a country. All of the liberties also help to keep us joined. The unalienable freedoms to express yourself freely, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and as Thomas Jefferson said “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, as in the Declaration of Independence. Our educational system in America is highly inefficient. It focuses more on standardized testing than it does on helping the students understand the curriculum. I have seen teachers that care more about their paycheck than the well-being of their own students. On top of all this, once you're out of high school, there is college. Of course, it is not required for you to attend. But it's almost impossible to get a well paying job without a degree. To make matters worse, college is unbelievably expensive, making it nearly impossible to go without putting yourself in debt, because the average cost for tuition for a public college in America is $9,139. For example, my own mother almost didn’t pass high school, because her government teacher always put her down and how she was going to fail. My mom was never able to get a college level education because her parents could not afford to give her that privilege.…

A highly well-known right given to American’s is the freedom of speech which stems from the first amendment. This prohibits the government from creating any laws that could stop the people from exercising their feelings, or speaking their thoughts. American’s deserve the right to share their opinions as well as criticize our government. The first amendment is often seen as our most important right as American’s. In some countries, citizens are not allowed to criticize or question their government without the fear of being imprisoned. This right is important because it gives American’s the opportunity to give their own personal ideas and inventions regarding the government which creates the existence of multiple points of view. In turn, this initiates a productive and constructive society with a…

As I sit in my classroom and look around to each of my peers I hear them talk about how “This is too much work!”, “I hate being in school.”, “I'm dropping out and never coming back!”. I realize how fortunate we are unlike the kids in other countries who don’t even get the opportunity to go to school. For the ones who do get the chance they have to go through great lengths such as walking long distances or they don't have the appliances to handed to them like we do in America. I've decided that my responsibility to America is to ensure that I'm taking advantage of all of my education opportunities to the best of my ability, in anyway that I can.…

For all of my life, I have been an American citizen. I’ve never thought of my freedoms and rights as being a blessing, for I’ve never known anything different. But now that I have gone to DC and have seen all of our national buildings and landmarks, like the white house, Arlington Cemetery, the Jefferson Memorial, and so on, I now have a newly founded appreciation for my liberties. All of the rights I have as an american are very special and unique, for the concept of everyone being equal was new in our world. Also, the bravery of our forefathers is astonishing, for they could have been tried and hung for treason if we didn’t win the war. And the government they establish is completely original and is completely, as put by our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, “of the people, by the people, for the people,” and in my opinion, constructed in liberty, and most importantly, freedom.…

America has set an example for the rest of the world. We are the pioneers of freedom and justice. Our valiant military members work in a sedulous manner, day and night to maintain freedom for all Americans. The pursuit of freedom all started like a seed when we revolted against the British to establish this great country. Other foreign countries saw America as a trailblazer, as we made our own path to freedom. America inspired other countries such as France to rise up, and fight for what is truly yours: freedom. This was just the beginning of the freedom movement. Countries everywhere were resisting egregious leaders to start their own movement. Foreign nations hindered by a lack of leadership took initiative and rose up for their rights. America’s dedication to freedom is best represented by…
