Also Malnutrition can be defined as a condition resulting from inadequate diet or from inability to absorb or metabolize nutrients. Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder marked by malnutrition and weight loss occurring mostly in young women. Bariatric means treatment of overweight.
Calorie is the amount of heat energy needed to raise the temperature of one kilogram of water 1oc. Kwashiorkor is severe malnutrition in children primarily caused by a protein poor diet. Marasmus is severe malnutrition in children caused by a diet lacking in calories as well as protein. Allergies are abnormal reactions of the immune system that occur in response to otherwise harmless substances. Micronutrients are essential elements that are needed only in small quantities for example; zinc, copper, selenium, iodine, magnesium, iron, cobalt, and chromium. Macronutrients are the main nutrients that provide the body with energy and help growth. They include carbohydrates, protein and fats.
