Checkpoint Week 4 Hsm
An agency has to consider the full range of short term, long term, manifest and latent goals in developing its goal and objective statements. The goals may seem vague, but they are fleshed out in the objectives that are set up to accomplish these goals. The goal shows the overarching reasons for the establishment of the program and provision of services. An example of a goal statement might be: To provide homes for hurricane victims. This idea does not contain details of who, what, how and where these homes will be provided. It is, however, the overall goal of the agency. It is the agency’s purpose. A more complete goal statement might be: This agency will provide long term housing for victims of hurricanes after disasterservices have provided temporary shelters. This housing will be comprised of at least a roof, running water, indoor toilet, common shower areas and adequate heating. The shelter will accommodate no more than 2 people per room, excepting children. The objectives of the agency have to be called out to determine the relevant tasks that will be undertaken to accomplish this goal. Objectives are specific, detailed, direct, descriptive and targeted. By stating objectives clearly the agency can be effectively evaluated on the basis of how well it has met its objectives. Objectives will meet the goal of providing housing by showing how long assistance will be provided, who will provide assistance, how the program will be run and where these housing units will be built. They will also clearly detail the expected outcome of the program’s implementation. Four steps have to be followed to identify the agency’s goals and objectives. The first step is to find ‘enabling legislation’ that will allow for funding of the program through the state or federal treasury. The administrative control for this program will have to meet the

Guess what? I am so excited! I have just been promoted to Program Manager! I am going to make such a difference for this Organization. There will be so much to do you know, with the Programs since they all have a limited time on them. Things like Purpose of Evaluations so that I can review and possibly make it better for the outcome of service/program, Evaluative Research which I can look into research on methods, Descriptive Research will be awesome because I can explain what is in the studying that goes on. The Theory is a great one; it is facts, propositions that are used in the relationship to everything of the program activities. I will be able to Input so that I can step in and use the proper methods and help with the staffing of the service that is being needed. I can oversee the Outputs as well making sure that the outcomes of the services are achieved. There is a Service Delivery Model which is the activity going on to what makes the turning the input and going to the output. Any Organization or human services needs a solid foundation in order to run properly and to be successful and achieve the end results that are to me mandatory so if there are any problems and things are not going as expected then there will have to be an evaluation and a deeper look into that organization of what the problem is to which I will call the Needs and problem Assessment. However the Outcomes of all of this will always be changing and new ways and theories to improvement on the status of services as you well know. I know that I am going to be the best that I can be and make a difference and I just had to share this with you because you have been my inspiration and role model in human services and my best friend.…

For the user support employee, a customer service model begins and ends with communication. Communications not only involves speech or writing, but listening or reading well also. Communications is a two-way exercise, which involves both parties and their need to reach a satisfactory resolution. The various forms of communications between a user support employee and a customer determines the experience of a customer with user support as well as, adding or detracting to the opinion the customer has of the company. The first of these communications is the tone and style of the support employee. Each support employee should strive to create his or her own personal style of communication. This style should include everything from a greeting to a strategy for resolving customer complaints (Beisse, 2010). The technician should use clear, succinct speech or writing to convey the necessary information to resolve the customer’s issue (Beisse, 2010). A technician’s style should include the ability to categorize a customer to meet that customer’s needs and expectations. Support technicians should be able to restate a customer’s problem in the technician’s own words to show empathy and understanding of the customer problem. This is how the relationship of an ‘extremely satisfied’ customer is started and created. This should be the goal of all employees in a company with any type of communications (Beisse, 2010).…

The four external considerations for developing an integrated information management system for a human service organization are economic, sociological, political, and technological. Economic is made up of funding sources, contributors, referral sources, consumers, and competitors. The sociological includes consideration relative to the community and larger political subdivisions within which the agency functions. The political domain includes regulatory and accrediting bodies, including the agency’s board of directors. The technological domain encompasses all the areas of professional and technical advancement that must be monitored to ensure that the agency remains on the cutting edge as new developments and innovations emerge. The six internal considerations are organizational purpose, mission, and philosophy, organizational planning, organizational operations, human resources, technological resources, and financial resources. Revisiting organizational mission, purpose, and philosophy serves as a reminder that there is a long-range vision around which the organization has been structured, and it is important to develop indicators that will help decision makers understand how the agency and its programs are progressing toward that vision. The organizational planning framework is of vital importance to the design of the management information system. Review of plans will reveal strategic, long-term, and program-planning goals, objectives, and activities. If these plans are well designed, they should contribute to moving the agency toward its mission and purpose, and they should also suggest the types of data and information that will be needed to determine if these plans are on track. A review of organizational operations will be useful in understanding where the departments, divisions, or units are in relation to established expectations. Indicators that measure efforts and accomplishments should be incorporated into the information system. Questions…

All organizations and agencies have got to consider all goals. All of the goals they have to consider are the following; short term, long term, manifest and even latent. All these goals help in developing its goals and objective statements. These are very essential in an organizations and agencies. To some, at first, the goals are not always clear and can seem kind of vague. All individuals take things differently. When an organization, agency, or even smaller programs is established the goals show the reason for it even being established in the first place. It shows what is hoped to be accomplished. A goal statement is always present. An example of a goal statement would be something on this level: To help all neglected and abused children in the State of Arkansas. This statement does not get into detail of what, who, how or even when, but you do get an idea and feel of the agency purpose and plans. A more completed goal statement would be more on the level of: This agency will provide long term help for children that has been neglected or abused by the parents or guardians; we will help to place them in a safer environment.…

I would like to start my Human Service work in a counseling position. I am a very good listener. I have people that love to come and talk to me about their problems or situations. I also help them to find better ways to express their thoughts and emotions when solving their problems. I am studying for my Associate Degree in Human Service at University of Phoenix. I chose this field because of a personal life experience I had at the age of nine. I also feel that I have the right attitude and personality for a counseling job. I am compassionate toward others and have empathy toward their problems. I know that these situations happen to the best of us. I am able to connect with others even if their experiences and mine differ greatly. I appreciate their own value in life and want to help them to overcome obstacles they encounter. I am tolerant of other’s view (and this was learned with life’s experience) and I am willing to share my own experiences to help other people be more comfortable with their own situation. I am generally very accepting of others and friendly toward people. I want to start by interning at Georgia’s Department of human resource in Atlanta to get the feel of the positions that I will be applying for in 2014. This internship will allow me to work directly with Social Workers, Case Managers and Therapists. I will put my positive personality and style to work for these companies and organizations by giving them a person that loves helping people. I have not met my qualifications of the jobs that I am applying for, so the experience I get will help greatly when I graduate in October 2013. I plan on continuing my education after I graduate and aim to get my Bachelor’s Degree, I understand that the Associate Degree may be me in the door, but a BA will keep me. I want to work in a team of faculty and employers and feel that I can help such a group increase their sense of community. I have even thought about going back to my hometown and helping my…
