Observing the Characteristics of Life

In this activity, you’ll identify some observable characteristics (some not) of life in videos of various organisms and describe those characteristics.

Review

Remember that ALL living organisms are made up of CELLS!

What are seven characteristics of living things?

1. Movement 2. Reproduction 3. Sensitivity 4. Growth 5. Respiration 6. Nutrients 7. Excretion

If your teacher is displaying the videos: Record one or more of the characteristics that you observe for each category and describe it on the data table that follows.
