Hello. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Gene Forrester. I was Phineas’ roommate and best friend. We are here today to pay tribute to and celebrate Finny’s remarkable life. Truth be told, writing this speech was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. It wasn’t challenging because I knew too little about Finny to share, but because I knew too much. I knew Phineas better than anyone else; we were constant companions. We were two parts of one whole and the more I got to know Finny the more proud I became to be his friend. He was talented, virtuous, joyful, and so much more. It is a tragedy that a person as young and precious as Finny has been taken so soon. Finny affected us all in ways we can’t even imagine.…
Next is talking about how we are alike. He has brown and I have brown eyes so that's pretty awesome. Also he has brown hair and I also have brown hair but in the "horse world" they call it sorrel. Cinco is very willing he will do really anything you want him to do so I would say I am willing to do anything unless I would die! Cinco is so loving he lets me give him hug like I will hug his chest and…
We are all brought here today to mourn the loss of a friend, family member and true star who was taken from us too early, Sarah Lynn.…
Citizens of fair Verona, today we gather here to grieve the loss of a precious child of God. Romeo Montague, a young man who was like a son to me, has sadly passed this realm. Although fate has already accomplished its deed, we can still remember the legacy Romeo has left at such a tender age.…
The song “Simple Man” by Hank Williams Jr is the perfect example of how my grandpa lived his life. My grandpa was a simple kind of man he did not own expensive cars or big houses. He wanted things to be as simple as possible just so he had more time and money for his family. He would say that troubles will come but they will pass quickly, he was very right about that. When I was around 15 and looking for my first job he told me to find something that I loved and understood, if I didn’t I would not enjoy my job much.…
I have never felt so much love in my life. we never had any awkward moments. Not even when we first started dating. We are just so good around each other. Everything just came so naturally to us. We just go together so perfectly. You are my other half. When I am with you I feel like I am full of life and joy.…
Robert Frost once debated whether the world ended in fire, or ice. It is a sad thought that the world will end without him; that the future generations will be privy to such events made for people like Robert. He was an inspirational, American poet who questioned the very core of our beliefs, he chose paths that few had took, and that is why today he is remembered today.…
It’s was her seventieth birthday and it was around the time of Thanksgiving. Everyone or what felt like everyone had gathered to celebrate seventy years of life. The the kitchen table was covered with foods, drinks, and most importantly the cake.…
In Julius Caesar, Mark Antony pleads with his “Friends, Romans and countrymen” to lend him their ears in an effort to discharge Caesar from false charges laid against him. The three main conspirators in Caesar’s murder, Brutus, Casca and Cassius portrayed Caesar as a formidable tyrant to the Roman people. After Caesar was unjustly killed by the people he trusted, the crowd was persuaded to believe that his death was necessary for the good of the republic. Marc Antony was cleverly able to manipulate the citizens into rebelling against the assassins and the mourning of the great Caesar death.…
My name is Ted and I am one of the nephews of Louie and Amy Alves. From day one Amy faced obstacles and even on her death-bed she never showed fear, never stopped laughing and never gave up. She inspired so many people throughout the course of her life and that was obvious by the turnout at the wake last night. Amy was a die-hard sports fan and a very athletic person growing up. She had 9 brothers and sisters, which I am sure contributed to her competitiveness. There is no doubt that she came from a military family because she possessed and passed on all of the military values as well as a patriotic spirit that was unbreakable. Her selfless service and dedication to her family was top notch. She lived her entire life honorably and with courage to spare. Integrity should have been her middle name and not only did she demand respect but she also offered it to everyone she met. Before Amy had children of her own she made it her duty to be like a “mom” to many young athletes, including myself.…
It is a quiet room filled with people. Most of them have smiles on their faces. Some of them are even about to have a laughter or two. Is it easy to find such a room in a university? Yes. But is it easy to find such a room where people are holding a funeral in? Absolutely no. The masterpiece-eulogy by Margaret Atwood made it possible. That is right, I am talking about “The Great Communicator”(1999), the eulogy to Northrop Frye.…
The eulogy is concluded with the song Make You Feel My Love by Adele Adkins. This song describes an endless and permanent love that comes at the price of sacrifice. Particularly Adele sings, “I’d go hungry; I’d go black and blue, and I’d go crawling down the avenue. No, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to make you feel my love” (Adele). She also mentions, “make your dreams come true, nothing that I wouldn’t do. Go to the ends of the Earth for you, to make you feel my love” (Adele). Onward, Adele’s song has a strong connection to Baba because he’s made numerous sacrifices throughout his life for the benefit of others, as these sacrifices were how Baba expressed his love. This is exemplified by how Baba always offers…
I Father O’reilly am privileged to have gathered amongst you all today, to give another perspective of a man who was not “just Ed”. He never gave himself great value but in my eyes he was a saint walking among us. I will never forget the moments and favours that Ed has shared with me. Ed, as many would say was a useless cab driver but in truth, I would say he was more of an inspiration and certainly it was an honour to have met this young gentleman.…
Seventy-three year old John Baisch absolutely loved growing up in Burien, just blocks away from Puget Sound. John adores Washington, especially the Seattle area, which brings back many memories of his childhood. As I interviewed John, I noticed that a majority of his answers involved his family and his love for them. His entire life revolved around his family, and it is amazing how they impacted his life today.…
His name was Bradley Tolman. He was born on March 21, 1998 in Madison Memorial Hospital, in the city of Rexburg, Idaho. As a child Brad was an extremely hilarious kid, he was always smiling and laughing. There was always one thing about him that he would always do, he tied his blanket around his neck like a cape, and put on a pair of sunglasses, ran around the house saying “I’m Batman”. He would save people from the bad guys. Then there was this time when he wanted his mom to cut his hair right before school; because he wanted to go to school with his hair short. It was about time the bus should have been coming to pick them up. He really wanted his hair cut so much that he ran into the house, grabbed his dad’s electric razor,…
