Catcher In The Rye Depression Analysis

Does teenagers' depression has changed over time? Everyone has the depression in daily life. Depression is a state of feeling sad. People has the depression when they feel very sad, hopeless, and unimportant and often is unable to live in a normal way. In the book, Catcher in the Rye, the author describes how holden feel depression which put him in mental school. Holden is the main character in the book. He is a young teenager that grows in California. He has a mental problem since his brother dead. The depression of the teenager is still going around in this day. Today, more than 17 million Americans and more than 100 million people around the world have the serious depression illness. In, my point of view, I think the teenagers in 1950 is similar to the present. The book shows how the teenagers deal with depression which is the same what teenagers today face. The similarity of causing depression that teenagers from 1950 until now are loosing of a family member, being lonely, and using drug and alcohol. The first cause of depression is losing family. For my own experience, I have been depressed about college and what I should do with my life. I depress with the college financial because I think high education is important for my future.
