Case Study: Proposal for Online Business Expansion
E-Business (QRT2) Task 3 Proposal for Online Business Expansion Website Design and Cost Estimates Field Clothing is a small street-wear and men 's clothing company operating in Toronto, Ontario. The company derives its income from the design and direct-to-consumer sale of bespoke clothing items, including sweatshirts, t-shirts, and raw denim items. Two of the most popular items currently sold by the company include a black side-zip sweatshirt made out of neoprene material, and a white jacket made from 3M material that illuminates under flash. The clothing sold by the company is designed and manufactured by the company 's owner and creative director. Items are cut and sewn in house, and materials are procured from various local and international suppliers. Currently, the company 's only online presence is a single web-page with an email address, a link to the company 's Instagram page, which it uses to promote its products to the online community, and a phone number to contact the owner and creative director. The majority of sales are local, but occasionally the owner will take international orders via email and a third-party money transfer service, such as PayPal or Western Union. The last section of this report (Task2) suggested the company to develop an online business expansion strategy with a comprehensive analysis and discuss the component of the strategy. These current section is to create a sitemap for the proposed online expansion, design mock-up, discuss a scope for the projected website and analyze development and maintenance cost.

A1. Viability of Product or Service: Spice King is an Indian Cuisine and Sweets restaurant located in Renton, WA. Their current site, www.spicekingrenton.com, could use some work to increase their web imprint and bring more business to the company. The restaurant is located within a small ethnic grocery shopping mart on a side street in Renton. The restaurant is frequented by the local shoppers but offers so much more than just a quick lunch. They offer a range of Indian food and desserts and offer delivery and catering. Delivery and catering orders are primarily done via phone call. Customer feedback shows because of current site deficiencies, few orders are created online. Most customers give up and call the restaurant to place orders. It’s unknown how many simply relinquish their order altogether. “Almost 30% of restaurants say online ordering has increased the volume of their orders and 27% say they've improved their service as a result.” (mashable.com) The current lack of orders from traffic to the site suggests expanding on Spice King’s existing web site would prove beneficial and create awareness and increase customer interest in the restaurant as well as direct business to offsite work.…

The purpose of the report is to communicate directly to the client, both visually and verbally, feasible steps that its organization could take in order to better utilize the potentials of the Web for promotion, ecommerce, archiving information, or client relations. Your recommendations should focus upon a few well-researched options that the client could implement immediately. These options, however, also must enhance the client 's long-term Web communications plans. Although you may need to pay some attention to logistical issues, such as ISPs, software programs, and the like, your report should not simply consist of a how-to manual for creating basic Web pages. Refer the client to such information and focus instead on recommendations espcially suited to the client 's goals and rhetorical context. It is expected that all teams will submit their report to…

Business is and will always play an important role in every country. What makes it important is that it is already a part of people’s everyday lives. Business provides goods, services, and jobs. In other words, it satisfies the needs and wants of every human. The UN Global Compact (2010:5) argues that business, as the world’s main source of economic growth, is at the heart of virtually any widespread improvements in living standards (Hoye, 2010). Without businesses, everyone would have to be an expert in all aspects of life which is impossible to do. Countries would also be at stand still and would have no progress at all. In short, we would not have the life we are enjoying right now without the presence of these businesses.…
