Popularly known as Brother Dhinakaran, the famous Preacher from Chennai was born on 1 July 1935 at Surandai in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu. He actively carried evangelical activities for some time prior to leaving his job at the bank in October 1962 to evangelise on a full-time basis. He founded the Jesus Calls Ministries, which by the time of his death, had more than 20 bases in India and abroad and during his lifetime was the most influential and best-known of the Charismatic evangelists working in India. He wrote more than 15 books and recorded many Christian musical albums. Many present day independent evangelists owe their starting into Ministry to his credit.
