To my fellow citizens, and candidates, a pleasant evening to all! First and foremost, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for being here, for your time, for allowing us to, and for having this election, without your presence this election wouldn’t be of great success.

Partido Democrata’s platform also supports the movement to get equal treatment under the law for same-sex couples. As our platform says: "We support the freedom of churches and religious entities to decide how to administer marriage as a religious sacrament without government interference." The platform opposes "constitutional amendments and other attempts to deny equal protection under the law" to same-sex couples.

It also calls for a visa system that

We must break the cycle of being constantly on the defensive against conservative Republican policies and propaganda.…

Democrats support giving gay people the opportunity to marry. Our nation and our government are based on individual rights and freedoms, and to not allow people of the same sex to marry goes against a person’s individual freedom. Republicans support the military policy “Don’t Ask, Don’t tell”. “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” basically means if you are openly gay then you cannot be in the military, so if you are gay and want to serve in the military keep inside the closet.…

This was the very beginning of a nation-wide political change, which is evidently more than just empty propaganda, but is evident now through current new reforms.…
