Kingship is one of the central themes of the play. In medieval times the king was seen as God’s representative on earth and Shakespeare highlights the potential of kingship for good or evil. The welfare of the state is seen to depend on the legitimacy and character of the king. In the play we see how lawful and good kings rule in the interests of their subjects, bringing order and stability. However, an unlawful or corrupt king inevitably threatens the welfare and health of the state. In simple terms, a virtuous king results in an ordered, healthy state, while a corrupt king results in a corrupt state. Malcolm points out that an evil king has the ability to “uproar to universal peace, confound all unity on earth.” Duncan, the English King Edward and Malcolm are lawful, virtuous kings under whom society can rest and thrive. However, Macbeth is a usurper whose reign brings only disorder, suffering and misery.…

National Junior Honor Society is a great opportunity for me; something that I am really excited to be apart of. I’ve been tossing and turning in bed for the past month wondering what to write or how to prepare myself for such an extraordinary honor to become apart of the NJHS. All through my life I’ve thought of myself as a leader, never a follower. I would love to be apart of this establishment to share my thoughts and ideas for fundraisers and collecting donations, but also to listen and consult of what others have to say because there is no leader without the help of his/her people. I believe I possess all the qualities to be apart of the NJHS; Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. I enjoy helping the needy and have participated in some charities. For example, the Relay for Life charity that donates money to former or new cancer patients undergoing chemo therapy. My mother and I attend every year and donate money. We also have a grand old time going, participating and helping out because my mother is a breast cancer…

I have always been interested in the impressionist style of art, especially the works of Camille Pissarro. When making my essay selection I took this under consideration and chose this great French impressionist. Impressionism was the most important Art movement of the nineteenth century, having a great influence on the development of Modern Art. The name impressionism itself comes from a painting ‘Impression sunrise’ created by Claude Monet. Impressionism consisted of landscapes, seascapes, snow scenes, ballet dancers, horses, everyday life and still life but the most common themes were seascapes and landscapes. 1863 was considered to be the start of Impressionism. However the name of the group did not appear until 1874, when the first exhibition was held.…

Josquin Despres (c. 1440-1521) was acknowledged by his contemporaries as the most accomplished composer of his time. Martin Luther proclaimed that, “Josquin is a master of notes, which must express what he desires; on the other hand, other choral composers must do what the notes dictate.” Although very little is known about Josquin’s early life in the lowland region of northern France, he most likely received his musical training through his service as a singer at the chapel of the Milan cathedral in Italy. His career was spent as a composer attached to various churches in northern Italy and France, and most of his compositions are sacred, either settings of the mass or motets, sacred compositions based on Latin poetry suitable for inclusion in a church setting.…
