Calin Rovinescu's Case Study
Mr. Calin Rovinescu became President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada on April 1, 2009. He was awarded “Canada’s best CEO in 2013 and in 2014 the Financial Post named him the Number 1 CEO of the Year. In 2014 Rovinescu received Honorary Doctorate of Laws degrees from the University of Ottawa and The University of Montreal moreover he was also named Outstanding CEO of the Year for 2016.”
The award program's Advisory Board says that by selecting him the CEO of Air Canada he transformed this company into a profit. By his strong leadership skills Air Canada has strong growth, notably a 50 per cent increase in international capacity since 2009.
