Detailed Description – Rushes Supervalu Killiney
Supervalu is a supermarket chain in Ireland and also in Spain and is owned by the Musgraves firm. It has its main headquarters in Cork. It has more than 224 stores located all over Ireland.
The individual stores are owned on a franchise basis and in my assignment I will be focusing on the Supervalu, Killiney Shopping Centre, Dublin which is owned by the Rushe family. This store has only recently been re-opended as a Supervalu after 7 years as a Eurospar franchise. Before this it was originally a Supervalu for the previous two decades.
Purpose
Rushes Supervalu’s purpose is to provide and excellent shopping experience for all local customers who have shopped here for a long period of time. This includes the young shoppers to the more experienced shoppers. Everything is driven towards catering for the local customers but also for customers who are only using the shop the once with baskets straight at the door as you come in and staff welcoming you as soon as they see you. Rushes Supervalu has all its staff trained in customer service by using the iCare training methods.
Mission
Rushes Supervalu Killineys mission and also its approach is to provide the public with excellent service and also provide employment and support the local community. Rushes Supervalu provide the local GAA club Cuala with training tops and all sorts of equipment and also provide food and drinks for coffee mornings in the local Catholic Church. Rushes Supervalu mission statement “To offer our Customers quality value and service while providing employment supporting local suppliers and giving back to the local community”.
Vision
Rushes Supervalu’s vision is provide excellent customer service for shoppers, to provide jobs for the local community but at the same time maintain a profit and have a successful shop. Rushes Supervalu want to be the best Supervalu franchise and to also be better than its competitors.
