A Spanish brand of clothing founded by the visionary Amancio Ortega Gaona and Rosalia Mera in Artexio, Galicia. ZARA was founded in the year 1975. Is one of major selling brand of the biggest fashion retailer "INDITEX".

Zara has resisted the industry-wide trend towards fast fashion production to low-cost countries. Perhaps its most unusual strategy was policy of zero advertising; the company invests percentage of revenues in opening the new stores. Idea of Zara increased as a "fashion imitator" company and low cost products. Lack of advertisement also contrasts to direct competitors like United Colors of Benetton.
In 1980, the company started its international expansion through Portugal. In 1989 entered the United States and in 1990 France.
This international expansion was increased in the 1990s, with Mexico (1992), Greece (1994), Belgium and Sweden (1994), etc. until reaching its current presence in over 73 countries. On September 6, 2010, first online boutique for Zara was also started.
In 2011, Zara entered the Australian market. Zara opened its third Australian store in November 2011 at Burnside Village Shopping Centre in Adelaide .In November 2011; Zara entered the South Africa also. India
