Budget-Cuts In Education

The writing process for all papers no matter the type or topic is a long and tedious process to craft the most appropriate paper. The process is such a tedious one because it is a process that is dependent upon a multitude of steps that must be followed so that the paper is written in a way that flows but is also understandable. For this particular paper, a research paper that was based on the book, Not Buying It, by Judith Levine was quite interesting because the topic that I choose was the effect of state budget cuts on educations and to what extent they damage a school's ability to function well. I tied this in with the month of may in Not Buying It, where Judith discovered the importance of public libraries and how they offer a multitude of services, especially when one needs these services free of charge. This correlates with my topic because budget cuts both to schools and libraries hurt academic performances tremendously, however state education budget cuts are my focus because I felt that these financial cuts are even more damaging to schools. It is nice to know that the sources which are brought up through these databases are reliable, however, they are very finicky and hard to find the perfect source. I underestimated the amount of time that is needed when searching for information through these databases. I first thought I could just search what written was looking for and have all of my sources within an hour, but I guess that is why this paper is a research paper and takes more invested time to find the necessary sources to write the paper. I also had a little bit of a problem connecting my topic with the part of underfunded libraries in the book in which this paper is based on.
