Braveheart Bridge Case Study
Using the above listed strategies will improve traffic flow over the Braveheart Bridge. At the current rate of growth, we believe that this will mitigate traffic congestion during commuting hours for the next 20 years. The combination of strategies will be most effective, but some of the strategies will take longer to implement than others. The new bus routes and change from four to five lanes across the Braveheart Bridge will be almost immediate. The conversion of the factories and warehouses to lofts will take longer and the initiative to promote walking & bicycling to work will take time before the public buys into it. It is estimated that it will take approximately a year before the lofts are ready for people to move in and be closer

Bridges are something that have always fascinated me. In my picture you can see I have the Julien Dubuque Bridge in the background. This bridge is a two lane bridge, it has been debated through the past years on if this bridge will be altered in the future. I think it would be a very interesting lesson for the students to look at adding lanes on the bridge. They could choose to expand the bridge into four lanes, build a second two-lane bridge, or tear down the current bridge and replace with a four-lane. During this project students would need to keep in mind that the Julien Dubuque Bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. They would also have to factor in construction time and possible road detours to decide what would…

The final scene of act one is important because Eddie loses his power to Marco who is an immigrant. In this scene it is the highest point of tension. It is the climax. This play is a tragedy and a traditional tragedy always has climax in the middle which this play has, because it has its turning point in the middle, it fits into the structure of ‘tragedy.’…

As a result of an increased population inhabiting one area, traffic congestion is often a major issue resulting from urbanisation. In London, traffic is evidently a problem. As it would be expected from a capital city home to more than 8 million people, alongside the 30 million visitors received per year, the London road network is often under tremendous strain. Despite London’s extensive public transport facilities, many still choose to drive their own vehicles around the city. In Mumbai, the road network suffers a similar strain, unable to cope with the millions it carries each day, it suffers from increased journey times, congestion, and air pollution. In London, park and ride schemes, cycle lanes, congestion charging schemes and low emission zones have been introduced to combat the traffic. In terms of its success, an example of immediate impact was the introduction of the congestion charge, reducing the amount of traffic in the heart of the capital by about 15 per cent. However, according to TFL, the reduction has not been sustained. In Mumbai, people have tried using alternative vehicles such as mopeds and scooters, and whilst this helps them to dodge traffic jams, it has only contributed more to the poor air quality caused by emissions. Ultimately, it is clear that not all solutions are effective, but in a wealthier country like the UK, there is a much higher chance of success due to the funding fuelled into these schemes; with time, the schemes may…
