Book Burning: The First Book Burning In History
The first book burning in history can be traced back to the Qin dynasty in 200 BC (Book Burning: fanning the flames of hatred). People may think that was a long time ago and things like that do not happen much anymore, but there are still many book burnings today. Many people try and symbolize burnings for something bigger. Book burnings occur to annihilate the beliefs and vultures of those deemed inferior to society as a whole.
In Europe during the middle ages heresy or having beliefs that do not agree with the church was extremely frowned upon. With this is mind, many heretics were burnt at the stake.     The act of book burning is not a new idea, in fact it has been preformed over 2000 years ago. From the time that books made appearances around the world, there would always be someone to burn them. Most of the time books were burned out of fear. Some feared that certain books would make others smarter than themselves. Others burned books that held certain truths in them that they did not wish for others to be aware of. And many held new ideas that were controversial to the time.
