Short Biography: Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte was short for his time however; he was considered normal height for the time period he lived in. Many say Napoleon had short man syndrome. Short man syndrome is conditions were a person has to deal with a feeling of inadequacy. Napoleon Bonaparte was born August 15 1769 in Ajaccio, Corsica. His parents’ names were Carlo Bonaparte and Marie Letizia. Napoleons family was very wealthy. Carlo was a lawyer and political opportunist. Napoleon had 4 brothers Joseph, Lucien, Louis, and Jerome Bonaparte. Napoleon had three sisters Elisa, Caroline, and Paulina Bonaparte. Lucien Bonaparte was the youngest of the sons he was also 1st prince Canino and Musignano. Joseph was the oldest brother he made Napoleon king of Naples and Sicily, and later king of Spain. Napoleon Bonaparte entered the military school at age ten he studied at royal military academy. Five years later he enrolled in the Ecole Military. A year later he graduated from Ecole Military with the ranks of second lieutenant in the artillery. The first army napoleon commanded was French army in Italy. In 1793 napoleon and is family was forced to leave Corsica after the governor accuses them of being too pro-France. Than napoleon and his family went to France to focus on his career. Napoleon served well for the French army so he is promoted to brigadier general. General Paul Barras made napoleon commander in chief of the army of the interior. Before this napoleon was not well known now he is rich and famous. In 1796 Napoleon marries Josephine she comes from a wealth family to but wasn’t sure if she wanted to marry him because he was older than her. Napoleon leads the Italian Army in a series of battles against Austria. By the time Italy defeats Austria in October 1797, it is clear that Napoleon is one of the world's greatest military leaders. Napoleon is named Emperor of the French Empire and, in December, is crowned in a very fancy ceremony at the Notre Dame in Paris.
