Who came up with football? A guy named ,”Walter Camp was the one who transformed rugby to football back in the middle to late 1800’s he slowly began to change rules to make the new game of American football”. Football was then created to what it is today. From experience myself of playing football it's a sport someone will never forget the pain the hits the feeling of scoring touchdowns in front of a home crowd. What I plan to give you advice on is how to be a good player and what it takes to be a good player from a personal stand view.
Football, what does it take to be a good player? It takes determination and the will to fight and go to practice. It also takes being a good kid and not going to parties where people drink and smoke. That is definitely something you don't want to be representing yourself while being and good player. You would lose a lot of trust and respect from supporting people. Determination is key when you are playing football you can't just not show up to practice because then you will wonder why you won't ever get to play on game day, because you never put in

I know this from my beginning experience playing football I was put at half back then later I moved to wide out because I performed much better in those areas. So never give up on what you want to do. Before you know it you will be saying I can't believe I did this, to ur self. I'm not going to say you are not going to struggle with getting better in the position you want to play. It's better if you struggle because you will experience the fall and you won't do it again after practicing to improve your ability. But always remember playing as a team is the most important part of the

The most popular sport in the south, football, is a game that stumbled out of rugby and soccer. In 1823, English soccer player, William Ebb Ellis picked up the ball and ran with it, inspiring the students of Princeton to become involved in a sport they called “ball town”. The first football game was played on November 6th of 1869 in Brunswick, New Jersey between the Rutgers and Princeton. The game was observed by one-hundred spectators and the players wore no helmets or uniforms. The players kept score by giving a team one point each time the goal line was crossed. The Rutgers won the game with a final score of 6 to 4. Walter Camp, the father of American football, later evolved the rules of the game as a coach and athletic director…

Football, as well as rugby and soccer, is believed to have originated from an ancient Greek game known as Harpaston. Harpaston is mentioned quite frequently throughout classical literature, in which it is referred to as a “very rough and brutal” game. The rules of this ancient sport were simple: a team would be awarded points when a player would move the ball across the opposing team’s goal line by either kicking the ball, running with it across the goal line, or throwing it across the line to another player. The only objective of the other team was to stop the ball from crossing their line, by whatever means possible. There was no specific field length, no side line boundaries, no specified number of…

With reading the article “ Would I let my son play Football”,I came to a consensus that I would let my kid play football. “ How can I bash a game that produced so many friendships, paid for my education, and helped me become comfortable financially” .( Fujita 3). I agree with this article’s statement because football has helped people pay for college and help build their respective careers. Football has also made many people financially stable after playing in college and moving on to the NFL. “Football isn’t for everyone Scott ...but it was definitely for me”. (5). With Football not being for everyone, it is still made for some people, and if my son/ daughter wanted to play football then it would be made for them. The people that are made…

Flashback to almost eight years ago. It was my first season playing flag football, and I was probably the smallest kid on that team. In the past, I had only played soccer, but only recreationally, without score. It was hardly competitive at all, so playing flag football was a twist, and easily the most competitive activity I’ve ever participated in. Aside from that, I had just moved to Texas, so I was the new kid. Walking onto the practice field for that first time was overwhelming. There was one thing I could naturally do very well, run. I was always naturally faster than others, and could run for a good while with that second grade energy. Because of this, I was placed at the running back position, and I can tell you, despite my little world experience, playing running back on…

Although, some would still hold the argument about football teaching discipline and keeping teens active. Football will never be the only thing to teach discipline and keep teens active, but some will still take the risk. Additionally, football will not work out well for everyone and could still cause severe injuries. Yet another reason why I still stand on the side of not allowing my son to play football. To conclude, if your reason for pursuing football is due to the career path that is set, football will not be the only factor determining…

One reason why I would allow my son to play football is because it will build his character. “The game challenges and pushes us. It’s often uncomfortable. It requires us to be at our best” (Harbaugh, John). Football has players challenging themselves to see if they can handle it. Those that persevere, develop the “never give up” mentality and carry it with them throughout their life, allowing them to succeed in everything they set their minds to.…

From past to present, sports have played a widely significant role in our history. Sports bring our communities together and offer fame to the athletes. Professional sports have been looked upon as a place of glory. From prestigious awards to high salaries, being a professional athlete is something most athletes dream of, but only a handful achieve. Growing up, many young children aspire to be professional athletes and strive to play even college sports someday. In recent years, athletics have been looked upon as equally, if not more, important than school itself. Many athletes sacrifice school in order to be successful because the draw, competition, and demand for athletes has dramatically grown. This has lead to a smaller margin of athletes to become professional. It is a mad race of talent, hard work, and perseverance. This has resulted in professional teams draft players in college and sometimes even in high school. Athletes leaving their education early to play sports professionally should not be limited or cut off because of the many benefits of going professional earlier.…

American football as we know it originated from rugby played in Britain in the mid-19th century. The person who Americans consider the “Father of American Football” is Walter Camp. Professional football can be traced back to 1982, when there was a $500 contract for the Allegheny Athletic Association and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club to play a game against each other. Originally football was primarily a sport of the Midwestern industrial towns in the United State. In 1902, the American Professional Football Association was formed and two years later the National Football League. The competition was fierce between the two leagues, which led the two leagues to merge. Football eventually became national. When the two leagues merged is when…
