In a world that has only one constant factor, which is change, it is imperative as educators to provide an education for students that will provide them with a successful foundation for their future endeavors. In order to provide accurate material to students, we, as an educational community, need to gain an understanding for where the world and society is today, as well as the projected developments of the future. Whether the middle school students sitting in the classroom are college bound, or eager to enter the workforce upon high school graduation, all students are in need of technology education. Today, the projected job market is dominated by technology oriented positions and professional growth. An article from the U.S. News reports “As technology seemingly advances its way into every nook and cranny of our society, the job market for individuals with vat knowledge of it is ever expanding” (U.S. News, 2012). However, technology education cannot be efficiently reached if the educators are not given the resources to teach technology. By providing teachers with the knowledge to infuse their lessons with technology, students will be given a competitive edge when entering college, or a technological driven society.…

After reading those articles, through my experiences in college, I was able to vividly retrospect my behaviors and results from using or not using technology. When I first joined college, my friends and I had new laptops carrying around to school taking note with them. Due to ban laptop policy in high school, I was so pleased that I got to look at my computer screen and write down what professor said. Sometimes, I stray out from the lecture and spent time doing other unnecessary activity, but I did not think that it was because of my laptop. Even if I don’t have my laptop around me, sometimes I zone out thinking about something else. I believe that regardless of using technology devices, it is my own or students’ responsibility to manage and pay attention in any…

After the collapse of the Roman Empire in 476 C.E., much of the Mediterranean basin was in disorder with no leadership. Germanic tribes from the north had conquered the last emperor and claimed the land their own. But in the east, a new empire was blooming, the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantine Empire was both similar and different from the previous Roman Empire, and its greatest ruler, Justinian, made it his main ambition to regain the lost territory, and power of Rome.…

I have enjoyed sharing my ideas and thoughts with other throughout my education years whether as a teacher or a student. I chose elementary education as a profession in classroom technology particularly because of many reasons. First, I think this major will help me a lot to understanding children who are the basic part of our societies. Also, I believe this major will increase my knowledge about their needs in our daily life which will eventually lead to an appearance of a new educated generation. This major which is in particular about the technology in classroom will also develop my skills in teaching by using the newest technology in the world to create a suitable atmosphere for the children. However, since I am from a developing country, which is Saudi Arabia, and based on recent observations on the general situation of education in my country, the use of technology has become an important part of the education in our schools and universities. So, I should learn some new ways of teaching to help my country and the children to generate good educators in different fields of study. Because of all above reasons, I have decided to pursue my education in this major to be an effective and helpful person in my society.…
