Biography Of Rushell Dickerson
Born April 24, 2000, in Huger South Carolina, Rushell Dickerson is my name. If I were to tell you that I was an actor that could dramatize this letter to keep you engrossed, would you believe me? If I was a preacher I would preach about God and how he ties into the reason for me getting accepted, but I'm not. If I was a famous poetry writer, I would use my poetic skills to persuade you and give you reasons why I should be accepted, but I'm not. In reality, I am just a graduating high schooler looking for new opportunities, adventure, and to learn new diversities and cultures. No, I may not be the smartest student that you may have, but I'm uniquely different from others. When making the decisions of accepting students, step out of your comfort

“Teely, because I’m so interested in seeing you apply with your Eagle Vision Application…” Central University. “An exclusive invitation from UNCP..” UNC Pembroke. “Mai-Teelee, you’ll want to read this.” Western Carolina. All these colleges and universities showed interest in me by reaching out through emails and letters in the mail but, it wasn’t them whom I was interested in. It was you, UNC Chapel Hill. The first time I heard about you was back in my sophomore year, in AP Environmental Science by a group of classmates who had visited the campus. At that time, I didn’t care that much for colleges. I was still worried about joining clubs and trying to make more friends and just, have fun. Like any other teenager. However, I became intrigued. Just what was it that made this school so well known and liked? Once I decided that I would aim for the medical field, my friends suggested, of course, Chapel Hill. You. They said “It’s a great medical school and you’ll get in easily because you’re Asian.” And being naive, I believed them. I didn’t quite realize just how high your expectations were. But it wouldn’t be too difficult I assumed…

Hello, my name is Shane Richardson. In Stranahan High School, I am a jack of all trades. I am currently the only sophomore taking Mr. Hale’s AP Calculus class, I have co founded the science club, and I play tennis outside of school. I think I would be an asset to the Honor Society because I am really organized. I know if you ever see my books in the hallway they are kind of a mess with papers but I know how to set up conferences, make lists, and organize events. I also never give up. In anything I do, I believe that if you start something you should see it through. One example of this is my calculus class. I started out the year not knowing anything about calculus. I didn’t even know what calculus (The study of change) was. I was really nervous about having my first AP math class and I was stressed out about the first quiz. I realized later that if I prepare well and I work my hardest I can succeed in anything.…

I see myself as a trustworthy, reliable, and good-humored person. I keep a positive attitude even in the face of difficulty. I try to create a supportive environment for everyone. I have an excellent GPA, I’ve done volunteer work, multiple extracurricular activities, and held down a job, and though I feel like all of this makes me remarkably qualified for your scholarship, it doesn’t set me apart from the other applicants. The day had come. I hastily rushed to the ASB room after taking one step on campus. I walked to the door, and saw the four names on the list. I did not find my name.
