Billy Mcpolar Case Study Mavinas
When Billy McFarland founded Magnises, he envisioned millennial members in major cities using their distinctive black Magnises card to buy discounted tickets for social events sponsored by brands that were eager to reach his 21 to 30 year-old members. For an annual fee that excluded people who were unemployed, but was easily within reach for those just starting their career, McFarland imagined that young professionals would be eager to network with people in other industries and make contacts that would serve them throughout their career.

Millennial by the thousands decided that they wanted to join, and Magnises keeps adding benefits and opening membership to new cities as McFarland grows his company. With brand partners that young urban professionals

    Clay Mcmullen Analysis

Clay McMullen is a boy who has been passionate about nature since he was 11. He loves the osprey (an endangered bird) in Ohio (his hometown) and wants to prevent it from ever being extinct. As it states in Teresa Murray’s article, ever since Clay figured out that the osprey relied on wetlands to survive, and 90% of Ohio’s wetlands have been destroyed in the past century, he started to help the osprey to not become extinct. To help this he had an idea to create platforms to sit on tall poles in wetland areas specifically for osprey. He received about $150 worth of materials donated from Home Depot so Clay could build these tall platforms. Later, Clay searched online for where to get grants, and made a request to Disney and was then awarded…

As the fall semester approached, Mitch and Taran decided to grow the business by attracting more vendors and by opening up the program to the entire student body. To that end, they met with the card administrator at Dartmouth to propose a joint-venture that would expand the purchasing power of student IDs beyond the dining halls and the book store. When the woman made it clear that the college had no interest in moving in that direction, the partners raised $20,000 through friends and family to establish an offcampus business that sported the school colors; the Green Card. Taran noted that by that time their roles in the venture had become clearly defined: Mitch and I were perfect partners. He’s a great strategist, salesperson, and an ideas guy; but implementing plans and managing day to day operations is not his strong suite. I never wanted to be an engineer in the traditional sense—my interest lies in crossing that divide between business and technology by designing solutions that improve operations. Together we made a really good team. Word spread quickly among the students, and the growing popularity of the card was a key selling point as they worked to expand the base of participating merchants in town. Taran explained that as an additional enticement, they devised an advertising credit…

    Will Moller Analysis

Cheating, in all forms, is considered deceitful and wrong. However, people still do it hoping the end result is an A on an exam or a better performance, in an athlete’s case. Cheating in itself is like an addiction and follows a domino effect. Once one athlete decides to use steroids, others follow in their footsteps hoping to perform at a higher level. There have always been several athletes who choose to cheat for their own benefit and personal glory. As a result, those athletes are looked down upon for cheating the game and the fans. Nonetheless, people fail to understand the outside factors that influence great athletes such as Barry Bonds and Ben Johnson to use performance enhancing drugs. In his May 5, 2009 article “Those Who Live in Glass Houses” Will Moller, blog writer for The Yankees $, argues that that performance-enhancing drugs should be permissible because the majority of good professional baseball players are forced to take steroids and such, as a result of baseball fans placing players on a pedestal to perform beyond their capacity. Moller makes a good point that fans have some responsibility for athletes cheating because of the pressure fans place on them to perform at an enormously high level; however, there are other responsible parties as well, including coaches, players, and the NCAA drug policy system as a whole.…

Poetry is a form of writing that lets people express themselves. Poems are typically short and sometimes rhyme. In other senses, they do not rhyme, but have a reasonably deep meaning. In the poem, "The Names", by Billy Collins, the title really caught my attention because I was surprised by the relationship between the title and the poem, my expectations about the connection were fulfilled, and the poem itself was extremely moving.…
