My comparative advantage in the labor market is as a Senior Administrative Assistant. The understanding of the duties of a Senior Administrative Assistant is often misunderstood to be a non-specialized occupation that doesn’t require any expertise. Presently, the administrative assistant job market is changing drastically due to employment trends which require a broadening and expanding of the functions and obligations of an administrative assistant. “Because of new technology, the administrative assistant job is changing into a position that requires multi-skilled roles such as online sales and marketing, website development and management, online customer service and other online jobs.” (Ramjee, 2017) Common Sense Economics states that “Your comparative advantage is determined by your relative abilities, not your absolute abilities.” (Gwartney, Stroup, Lee, Ferrarini & Calhoun, 2010. Pg. 178). To successfully compete and to have the “ability to produce a good or service at a lower opportunity cost than some others” (http://www.econedlink.org/economic-resources/glossary.php), I enhance and continue to develop my skills by working as an…

Relentlessly training in a lowly lit boxing gym, a powerful soundtrack with a heavy base accompanies the image of a persevering boy. Another boy, who appears to be the boxer’s little brother observes from the sidelines as the boxer rigorously prepares for his momentous match. What the boxer doesn’t know is that after he graciously wins the fight his actual match will begin outside of the gym. The advertisement “Boxing Makes You Bigger” from the company Everlast seems to be about boxing but is really about responsibility.…

    Sexual Dimorphism

Sexual dimorphism is the difference in morphology between male and female members of the same species. Sexual dimorphism includes differences in size, coloration, or body structure between the sexes. Dimorphism means two forms. “Sexual dimorphism” is two sexes of a species differ in external appearance or other features. Males and females may differ in size, color, shape, the development of appendages (such as horns, teeth, feathers, or fins), and also in scent or sound production. Species in which male and females are identical in appearance or other features are said to be “monomorphic.” There are different types of dimorphic traits found in marine mammals and explains some of the reasons why these traits might have evolved and what can be inferred about the lives of males and females in a particular species from the pattern of sexual dimorphism. The quality of the information available on sexual dimorphism varies widely across marine mammal species. We know quite a lot about a few species, which are used repeatedly as examples, and virtually nothing about others. Despite some of the difficulties of observing marine mammals, understanding of the evolution of sexual dimorphism is increasing steadily as studying of rarely encountered species accumulates and new techniques are further developed.…

    Size Is Not Beauty

    • 2462 Words
    • 10 Pages

How does one define beauty? Billboards, posters and pictures of models that reflect what society defines as flawless surround us. We see tall, thin girls and tall, thin, muscular men. As we look at them, their beauty is only on the outside. Behind the majority of models’ poses are people who suffer greatly with their image. There needs to be a balance between health and beauty. The drastic measures that people take to be thin are astonishing. There is more beauty in confidence, health and happiness than what is in thinness and perfection. It is stated by the late actress, Audrey Hepburn, “We must realize that in order to be beautiful, we must be happy and healthy first.” Today’s society tells people that they must be thin to be beautiful. People naturally strive to be beautiful, but by definition, beauty is not classified as how skinny a person is, but how healthy he/she is. Unfortunately, many people believe in the negative unrealistic version of beauty. As a result, many people suffer from eating disorders.…
