Best Buy Marketing Strategy
The store that I want to dive deeper into and throughly discuss is Best Buy. They are the world’s largest electronics chain, and a leader in music sales. Marketing management is at the second tier of its organizational structure, meaning it is at a very high importance level for the corporation (Kelley). They have over 800 retail outlets and an extensive online site that offers even more products than what is stocked on the shelves. The first activity would be a the traditional signage in the store as customers walked through the front doors. It would read, “New album from Pentatonix on vinyl only at Best Buy” and would tell you it is in the music area under the vinyl sign. This would be a poster style signage, with bright colorful images to catch the eye. These would be the standard poster size so they could be used at all of the Best Buy locations world wide. The second activity I would implement is a custom end cap display. This would have the vinyl release centered in the display but it would also have the bands other albums in various formats for sale. The end cap would be closest to the door in the vinyl section, so it would be noticed first. It would have the bands name and new release date and a catchy banner with bold lettering of the new album released on vinyl. The third in store activity would be the one that would draw the most customers I feel, similar to what smaller independent music/vinyl stores have, an area that is separated from the rest of the store that has comfortable seating lounge feel to it, where you can sit and listen to the vinyl. Some store still have listening stations mixed in with the CDs, that sample new releases but this you can play the whole record if you wanted. Within this simi enclosed space would be a section of only the new records to come out, and this would only rotate every month. There would only be a max of 20 new albums in this section so that it wouldn’t be

The three options I have come up with to remedy our current issues are: (1) To increase our publicity by revolutionizing our advertising strategies, (2) alter our store layouts to promote a more appealing company image, and (3) to bring in new product lines and refocus our merchandise to grow within our industry. This report will go over these options and carefully analyze them to determine the effectiveness of each one. I have evaluated the potential options according to a 4-part criteria. This criteria consists of analyzing the (1) competitive advantage, (2) risk and cost, (3) profitability, and (4) ease of implementation of each option.…

The Home Depot store on 59th St in Manhattan uses its storefront to attract its customers. In his book Why We Buy, Paco Underhill points out “the front of a store has utmost importance in determining who enters.” When it comes to generating traffic, and attracting people to buy, the front of the store has the most pull.
